Nancy Chandler is Closing

This little family-owned company has played a huge role in helping travellers to discover the 'real' Thailand since the 1970's. The detailed, brilliantly coloured maps of Bangkok and Chiang Mai were carefully researched and regularly updated. They were essential to any visitor keen on exploring hidden corners, finding interesting places, galleries, ateliers, small eateries and many difficult-to-find attractions. Nancy Chandler's greetings cards portrayed delightful images of Thailand, and their dispatch by residents to friends overseas contributed in no small way to promoting the Kingdom as a unique, 'must visit' destination.

Over 45 years, they have produced little masterpieces of graphic art. Since nobody is likely to possess the altruism, dedication or the commitment to follow in their footsteps, many of these items will likely become collector's items in decades to come. I salute the late Nancy and her daughter Nima for this achievement. It was clearly a labour of love for the Land of Smiles, and I am very sad to see it go. No doubt many others will feel the same.

Their closing message is here.

As a graphic artist and business woman she was a success in every sense of the word.

All the best to her family and former employees.

They had a good run.
