A damaged house in Nakhon Rachasima

Summer storms have affected more than 16,500 people in northeastern Nakhon Ratchasima province over the past three months, officials said on Sunday.

Nearly 900 villages in 31 districts have been hit by storms since February, affecting 6,048 households.

More than 5,000 houses, 325 rice barns and 318 livestock corrals were damaged, as well as temples and local administrative offices.

Officials issued 153 emergency announcements and declared disaster zones to secure relief funding.

A storm late last week in Huay Thalaeng district damaged 70 houses, completely demolishing one belonging to Somboon Kheunmai, 49.

He has received assistance from the local administrative office and the Second Army Region to help rebuild his home.

At least they will be able to breathe again. The fresh air must be nice.

Yep! - They conveniently forget to omit the fact that the majority of the building were on there last legs and only lady luck was keeping them upright!

As these buildings are owned by the the "poor" folks no standards enforced, no one gives a dam, while the "Elites" are off course well taken care off.

What do you mean by three months straight is it every day every week or once a month very poor reporting as usual and who are the mysterious officials.

I live there and haven't seen these storms......maybe one....we keep wishing for cooler weather and rain.
