Reason being the virus can only live outside the body for a split second but it can make it's way under the foreskin apparently. Not 100% sure if this is true or not

There a few reasons why but most importantly a circumcised penis has a tougher layer of skin (as it is subjected to more daily 'wear and tear' so is less likely to get microabrasions during intercourse that could allow the transfer of the virus into their body. But otherwise completely correct circumcision lowers risk significantly.

Meaning their would have been several serious health problems over time that would have required seeing a doctor who would have recognized the symptoms of advanced HIV and put them on medication immediately. And my question was how did you know they had HIV?

It became common knowledge after they died in the UK. And they did indeed suffer from several serious health problems prior to death. Any medication they'd received obviously failed to do what it was intended to. As I said one of 'em became blind.

It's not exactly going to be a state secret if a middle age man contracts and dies of some illness he'd picked up in Pattaya a city that is commonly regarded as the sex capital of the world.

Do you want me to see if I can make contact their families and see if I can obtain copies of their death certificates to put on display on this forum. It might be a bit awkward seeing as though I never knew any of the relations.

So you're gonna have to take my word for it or make further inquiries yourself. Do you want me to make some inquiries and forward you their full names if I can find out what they were.

There was a major study over 2 years I think.... results due out some time ago but at the time it was believed there were no know cases of an infection from a person on properly taken meds.

Gold stars for you...there have been several recent studies OPPOSITES ATTRACT/PARTNER 1/PARTNER 2 that have proven that HIV positive people who are on effective treatment are unable to transmit the virus to their partners because they have achieved an 'undetectable viral load'. There is now a scientific consensus that U=U or Undetectable equals Untransmittable.

I first visited Pattaya in 1984 and have been a regular visitor for the last 20 years. Do you consider that in all these years it's not unlikely that I've known three people who've got Aids in Thailand and died of it.

There must easily have been tens of thousands of 'em seeing as Aids has so far killed 35 million people worldwide.

Well I think I will take the other guys advice and ignore you.  If they died it was because they refused medication. The idea that you found out through 'common knowledge' that three random people you met on miscellaneous visits to Pattaya over the course of 15 years died from HIV is well...(insert your own opinion).

And when you said:

'These three have all gone in the last 15 years so make up your own mind if there really is a treatment that can arrest this disease.

It let's me know that you won't believe any facts that you personally don't believe.

Well you would not know if they'd be likely to tell you if they're HIV positive or not then would you.

And how do you know what's so unpleasant about waking up next to one then. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, know what I mean.

Like the rest of us they're probably what brought you to the LOS in the first place. It's a bit of a trot to come and look at Buddhist temples isn't it.

I really didnt come to Thailand just to have sex and it is quite degrading for myself to live among westerners who moved to Asia, jut to have  sex with poor people

Absolute rot. Micro abrasions? If you knew anything about HIV you would know it takes a lot more than a "micro abrasion" to contract HIV. Many of your remarks have been questionable. You certainly don't sound like a medical professional to me and shouldn't be masquerading as one.

Uncircumcised hot dogs are weird. I saw a vid with one and it looked like a hot dog you would see on a dog. A normal hot dog is a properly circumcised dog. Sets us apart from other animals. Also i heard stuff about dribbling and cottage cheese but i will spare the readers the details.

Are you in cuckoo land. I've rarely had a girl in the last 10 years not demand a condom.

Oh really?

Odd in five years just the opposite for me.

Hmm.

Is there something about you or your approach that creates it? Just curious..

Otherwise, this is raw dog country.  That is why so many come here to full fill their Thai porn fantasy...

Oh then tell us doctor just exactly how does HIV usually enter a person's body? Or outside of IV drug use is it the presence of a tear/cut/opening/wound/laceration/abrasion/microabrasion to a mucous membrane occurring during sex?

As I said 'there are a few reasons' why circumcision helps prevent HIV transmission and actually the mechanism is not fully understood and is still being studied.

But in the meantime...microabrasions on penises...sorry for those of you having breakfast.

Hmm,

If you wanna be personal they're probably HIV positive, don't like you and let you go with 'em condom free in the hope that they can pass it on to you.

Perhaps you should think about that and go and get tested!

I have a close friend who contracted HIV. It seems to be under control, but he has to take meds for it, and see the doctor frequently. He is heterosexual, but admitted to me he was engaging in alot of unprotected sex, and was kind of pushing the envelope, if you know what I mean. Great guy. Needless to say, it has had quite an impact on his life.

The big AIDS places are Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, BKK, Pattaya......

So, if you are there, smile at everyone.   maybe 9 out of 10 has AIDS, and remember to look in the mirror.

Cowards drink, sleep with bar girls to have this "power" over them, and then secretly want AIDS because they know their life has been very bad.  They are depressed, and accept their fate.  it's very sad, actually.

and also pretty funny.

so, it's 10 a.m.....start drinking at the bar now, get a few girls and ladyboys, AIDS by noon!!!!

enjoy

He is heterosexual,

How do you know?

He has truthfully shared all the dirty details of his sexual activities with you?

Still probably the biggest lie of those who obtain HIV.

Yes. He is straight with me. I think he did quite a bit of back door activity, without protection. Risky behavior. He is definitely heterosexual. But, this is something that can be contracted by heterosexual sex. Not easily. But, it can happen. Not typically through normal sex, though.

According to what I have read from Dr Hunter Handsfield, who is probably the world's oldest expert (40 plus years in the STD business), HIV prevalence is around 1 in 1000 in the average industrialized country for the average person and there actually isn't a higher prevalence found in the average sex worker than the average women.  By average sex worker, I mean escort, stripper, massage therapist (i.e. a relatively stable, employable person)

The only documented prevalence increase is among sex workers who are working off the street.  It is 1 in 100 for them.  This is because they are often unstable in general, often drug addicts, and condoms are the last thing on their minds.

Not sure exactly how this translates to Thailand, although I have read text where he evaluates a person's risk after commercial sex in Thailand and he quotes the same figures regarding risk.  Perhaps there is not enough data to prove otherwise.

Example, someone asks him about their risk after having unprotected vagina sex with a hooker.  He says, "This was a low risk exposure.  The odds she had HIV are probably 1 in a 1000. Multiply that by the odds of you getting infected from a single episode of vaginal sex, which is 1 in 1000 as well, and your overall risk is 1 in 1,000,000 (or 0.0000001%)."

Even if he used the 1 in 100 prevalence for the riskiest hookers, it would bring the overall all risk to 1 in 100,000 for a single episode of vaginal sex.

He answers questions on an "ask an expert forum" so you can check that out.  Very credible.  He won an award for his work in HIV prevention. And being in the business 40 plus years, much of what we know now came from his life's work.

I am pretty sure your 1 in 10 figure is very inaccurate for a Thai bargirl, maybe in some parts of Africa possibly.

There really is no need to scare monger.  You should really check out what the experts say to avoid unnecessary fear.

Oh, so banging a HIV infested hooker bareback is many times safer than riding on a plane?

Thank God we have experts like you and huffner huffnerfield. Please tell us more about flat Earth.

Its always uncircumcised guys who say its nonsense, they hate it that a circumcised cock is lower risk. Go to any farang STI clinic and ask a doctor

UpOk.

Wasn't trying to start something with you but it is the easiest way to avoid judgement saying one is hetero.  Next thing you know you see them eating at Kiss Food with a LB.

I think there are more here then one can imagination that are mostly hetero but will take an occasional beef injection.

Just sayin to identify how they got it may not be easy.

I didn't do it. My wife even put her own money for sinsod, but she's divorcing me.

That being said if I built a house and paid some strumpet a monthly allowance I'd still most likely end up divorced.

Winning!
