Waitlisted for Thai ROP awards flight

Hi everybody.

 

Does anybody have any experience of being waitlisted for a Thai Royal Orchid Plus points award ticket, please?

Currently the outward flight is ok, but the return flight (LHR-BKK) is 'no availability' for weeks around the date I need to travel.

I understand its peak time (early August), but there is plenty of availability on the paid tickets (for now, at least).

 

Has anybody ever got off the wait list and managed to get a ticket, please?

I don't want to leave it too late and find the paid tickets are all gone as well, as its a long awaited family holiday!
