Pattaya places barriers to prevent flooding

PATTAYA:--Pattaya officials aided victims of recent flooding on Soi Paniadchang 8 and took temporary steps to prevent more.

Deputy Mayor Banlue Kullavanijaya visited the central Pattaya neighborhood June 7, directing city workers to place water barriers to block runoff from inundating houses.

Teeraporn Srijan, director of the Social Welfare Department, accompanied the deputy mayor, providing canes and walkers to elderly and disabled residents. (PCPR)

For years we lived in Sammakorn Village in Bangkok and every year it flooded. The Flood of 2011 brought out some ingenious methods to block the water...

Are those the barriers he is stood on?

Glad to see they are taking steps.

How about 3 other sides of the house?

And this won't stop the water coming up through the drains if things get bad.  It will, however, make it considerably harder to get the water out of the house again.  Can't win really!

Ingenious, wall off the entrance to the house.

Why don't they extend the walls the full length of the soi and turn the whole thing into a proper klang. :clap2:

Nothing will stop water !  At least, nothing that Thai people could come up with.

Then stop adding to the flood problem

Absolutely brilliant plan.

Straight from the Pattaya " Think Tank ", so is destined not to perform.

PPP = PPP

Pi55 poor Planning = Pi55 poor performance.

I thought the title was going to read "Pattaya places barriers to prevent flood waters from receding."
