I am having a house built in a large project. the house is about 230 sq metersm 3 bedrooms, 4 bath and a large yard with sprinklers [sprinklers will run on off hours] . I do like a strong shower. What is the proper size pump and the a good brand name. I do have two 4,000 liter storage tanks if that makes a difference.

the a/c units that come with the house are brand name "California". I was told it would be a lot better to upgrade to a Daikin which has a 5 year warranty? leaving cost out of the equation what would be my best brand to use without going overboard, Daikin? I would like the a/c units to be quiet, dependable and efficient.

On a slightly related question does it matter much if I have different brands in the house, whilst the Daikin came with the house I was thinking of getting cheaper brands in my other rooms to meet my budget. -- What do you think?

Daikin, Mitsubishi, Sanyo & Fujitsu are among the best air con brands. Avoid LG anything (complicated cheap rubbish). Also, it might be handy to know that other older (& formerly good) brands like Carrier & Trane are mostly cheap chinese units. Carrier & Trane basically only make good quality commercial sized units.

Daikin, Mitsubishi, Sanyo & Fujitsu are among the best air con brands. Avoid LG anything (complicated cheap rubbish). Also, it might be handy to know that other older (& formerly good) brands like Carrier & Trane are mostly cheap chinese units. Carrier & Trane basically only make good quality commercial sized units.

Yes, I agree with most of this. Also, alot of brands are actually made at the same factory and then badged differently. For example, McQuay, Mitsubushi Heavy Industries, York. They were produced in Malaysia by OYL Industries, which is now actually owned by Daikin. Most of the electronics are the same, but some may use slightly differing components for the 'moving parts'.

My opinion - Make sure that the units installed were sized correctly first (you may save money long term this way). If they were, then leave them alone. Only replace them when they conk out/or in 5 years time. California is as good as the others for cost effective residential split a/c's - as they often utilise mitsubushi compressors & parts - check what it says on the outdoor unit in this regard. Sanyo units are reliable also (their warranty & returns costs are something like 1%) but you'll pay more for Sanyo.

Ungabunga, they are not installed yet and i have a chance to upgrade.......i will check to see if the sizing is correct but will probally go with the daikin for the extra cost since it is a bit better unit and the warranty is 5years no questions asked

Mitsubishi electric, i think is a very good brand , many shops have them

i have Itashi for water pump , never have problems , get stainless steel bowl

Just a note about the installation of domestic a/c units;

In Thailand, most of the copper piping is poorly bent, which has the further effects of;

1. creating noise from the refrigerant having greater turbulence.

2. this turbulence can have a negative affect on the operation of a TX/EX valve (if fitted).

Generally speaking, all bends in the pipework should not be sharp & not distorted in any way.
