It's a common ploy to pretend that frequency doesn't count. Trump lies all the time. I don't think there has been one major speech of his that doesn't feature several blatant lies. His lies fill pages and pages of fact-checking sites and dwarf all other competitors. He  even frequently denies having said things despite that fact that he has been recorded on video saying those things.
