Hi there I have a Thailand Elite visa and am soon going to be doing my 3rd extension of stay for 1 year without leaving the country.

I was told that along with the usual paperwork to do a extension that I would need to have a TM30 filled out to show to immigration to get the extension. (Thailand Elite told me this)

I have never been asked to fill out one of these forms before and my understanding is that this is the responsibility of the landlord to sign the form and report to immigration.

If I have not left the country in 3 years and have stayed at the same rented house since then why would I have to get a TM30 filled out by the landlord.

I thought this was for new arrivals or people that change locations and have to report the new address. Can someone please explain? Thanks.

They often want the landlord to do this but in truth it doesn't have to be the landlord.

Do you live alone ? If so then you can probably act as 'housemaster' as you are in posession of the house but this might not work everywhere. Different places have different rules.

Personally I took the Thai woman with me to immigration (Hua Hin) and she acted as housemaster - we don't even have a lease - she rents the house and I live in it - she's in charge of it and confirmed that I live there. This was accepted and they add a kind of receipt into your password that's updated every time you do the 90 day report.

I have stayed for the full 5 years on my Elite visa, currently on the extra 6th year which I obtained by taking a 2 day break to Phnom Penh.

It is not a hard problem to sort out based on my experience.

My landlord said he would come to immigration and sort this our for me, I decided to do it a little differently without inconveniencing him - he's a busy guy after all.

Interesting its  Hua  Hin as Ive used them for years, never  done tm30 never  been asked never had  a  problem...did they ask you or did you just decide to do it?

All my 90 day reports done online really fast now usually 24  hours to  approval from  doing it.

I did this when I last moved address and wanted to report the new address at my next 90 day report - it wasn't requested but I had been reading from many people on this forum who were not prepared for this and had problems resulting in multiple vists - I don't like multiple visits - I don't even like doing the 90 day reports.

I'm going down to do another 90 day report in a week or two. I left the country for a few days in April so it will be interesting to see if they want me to file another TM30 even though the address hasn't changed. I will be prepared as usual and repeat what I did last time if it's needed.
