You can only stay up to 12 hours inside the terminal. After 12 hours you are deemed to have arrived so you need a transit visa. What is your nationality ?

Dear Dr. Pat Pong

Since I will not get oudside of the Airport and not enjoy any tour within Bangkok, why I need Transit VISA?

May I ask you another question:

If I travel without Transit VISA, what will happen? I have heared many people are travelling without Transit VISA, they are stayng in Airport more than 12 hours.

Thank you very much.

As you seem unwilling to provide your citizenship (which is required to give you full answer) please go to the site below and input data for rules the airlines follow (you will likely not be allowed to board flight if you do not comply):

I forgot to give my citizenship. I am Bangladeshi national. Presently, I am staying in Japan.

I have come form Bangladesh to JAPAN and wish to go back my homeland BANGLADESH.

I would like to go thru Thai Airlines from FUKUOKA, Japan airport. In Bangkok airport I have to wait more than 12 hours.

I have 2 way ticket, i.e. round trip.

Please help me, whether I need to take Transit VISA.

Thank you very much.

The following was taken from the website of the Thai Embassy, Israel. HERE. Note, your country of origin is not listed as one where a visa on arrival, or entry without visa is permitted. Short Transit to Other Destinations without Leaving the Airport

Foreigners, who travel via Thailand to other destinations from the same port of entry, are allowed to transit without a visa. Should the transit passengers be forced for any reason to remain in the prescribed area for a period longer than expected, the Immigration Division may allow such passengers to do so under guarantees by the airlines or persons in charge of the transit.

This is a two year old thread in case anyone has not noticed. :o
You’re right, Lopburi; I didn’t notice.

What did that “Super Moderator”, p1p, think it would help the original poster to revive that thread after two years? Let’s hear it from you, p1p Super Moderator!
