55Jay Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Cool thread. ???? I was into Palapon (Palaphol) in the early 2000s, memorized a few of his karaoke vid songs in Thai - wife now, then my g/f, was diggin' I could sing them front to back but I had no idea what the hell I was saying. Ha ha. Reckon he's a bit "old school" these days though. Atom is some new-ish stuff I like in the past year or so. Mostly same same, Package "A" video storyline crap, but the sound is kinda cool. IMO. 1
Orton Rd Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Thais sometimes change their name hoping their luck will get better, it did for this singer. I still call her Rose Buntrern, never could get used to what she change it to. After she did she had this big hit, still a concert favorite. One of the nicest singers and certainly the best signing albums and photos, love her to bits. 1

Orton Rd Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 On this album, not one of my favourite songs though 1
Popular Post Orton Rd Posted August 6, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 6, 2019 There have not been many good films made built around music, they often have poor story lines, if one at all. Monrak Transistor is probably the best, a tragic comedy with good performances and including some classic songs. Cannot find the whole film now, the song is kithen pee mai. The film was made around 2001 The Suraphon song mentioned in the credits 3
Orton Rd Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Job and Joy left Nopporn SIlver Gold company years ago and went to Sangravee Entertainment where at least they were allowed to make good quality mv's. Photo is them on chung tang seang tong show 2007 where we presented them with a photo. Always under appreciated they were one of the best morlam acts in the country. 2
Orton Rd Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 Grammy seem to be the only company that does subtitles, then only for the big hits. This was a big hit for Mike Piromporn a couple of years ago, photo is at veteethai a free TV concert that ran every Sat afternoon for 15 years. He has a restaurant on Lad Phrao soi 71 where he sings sometimes. 1
Yinn Posted August 8, 2019 Author Posted August 8, 2019 If you have a Mia noi, don’t open this song with her..... 1
Orton Rd Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 I don't think I could afford a mai noi and if I could I have too much respect for my wife to look for one anyway ???? Went from Bkk to Pattaya and back one evening to see Dernpen and Jintara at a cafe, no longer there. Dernpen is a great singer. 1
Popular Post Yinn Posted August 9, 2019 Author Popular Post Posted August 9, 2019 This one famous old issan song. The singer die this year. He only forty. He have problem with the liver because he drink whiskey everyday. can not add the news link because Thai language. very sad to die that way. 3
bannork Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Yes, Cherd Rock Salaeng died recently, on June 3rd. Way too young. Damn Lao Khao. Another one to die the same way, and young too was Daeng jitakon. I've always loved this song. His voice is too weak on the top version, much better on the one below. 2
Orton Rd Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 It's not just the liver that gets them, cars have done for a few as well. Honee Sri Issan was only 21 when killed in 1992 in a traffic accident, only made 2 albums I think in the year or so before. Very little film of her, here they dubbed the recording over the concert soundtrack and out of sync but gives an idea of how lovely she was, damn those drivers! 2

Honey Sri Issan killed when her van overturned coming back from a concert. That song above was a monster hit the year before. Wonderful Thai country music. Then Black May occurred with many deaths unaccounted for. Our neighbour went to Bangkok to join the protests against General Suchinda and never returned. His poor wife never knew what happened to him until the day she died. Then Pumpuang died on June13. Oh my. And there was this song. 2
brokenbone Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 i think its jamina na rak with maleewan, not sure if that is the name of the song

Kak Channty, the lead female singer of The Cambodian Space Project was killed in a tragic traffic accident in PP last year. Cambodia's most famous singer, some of her music was hauntingly beautiful. And some of TCSP music was way out there. They played and travelled worldwide. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-43482011 http://cambodianspaceproject.org/ Whisky Cambodia is just stunning in a Jim Morrison/Doors kind of way. Check it out. Khmer rock - Thailand aint got nothing like it. 2 1
