Come to Chiang Mai and you can talk with him. If not, pamper your prejudices. But perhaps you are only at cheap places and never see the valued Chinese, Koreans, etc.

Only been to Chiang Mai once, stayed in a 4 star hotel Nimman Mai?, Wouldn't go again as I'm asthmatic. Not a good place to live or even go on holiday. It was a few years ago but didn't see one Chinese or Korean there. Certainly not in or around the hotel.

Edit U Nimman 5 star, my mistake.

“Guest” you mean the sex worker?

You check in with her? Or not?

Which hotel? I don’t think so. Most 5 star don’t have any sex tourist. They all have the policy.

This explain it a bit. Is true.

http://guestfriendlyphuket.com/

You are very wrong or very confused.

Every single hotel is guest friendly, meaning can bring an escort. Some , possibly many 4-5 star hotels have 700-2000 baht joiner fee to deter guests from bringing one or to deter guests who are planning to do that from staying.

They will allow one free of charge, if you booked a double and register her. Should guest change, they will apply joiner fee .

Hilton i believe is 1000 baht. Arnoma in BKK is 700, old Montien was 800 baht

I am living in Chiang Mai in a house. Don´t need a hotel. Also you like to pamper your prejudices and think that farangs are the best tourists on the planet. LOL

Not the 4 and 5 star hotels that I've stayed in in Phuket. All are guest friendly.

Higher end hotels are always guest friendly, it's part of their service.

Discretion is how they earn money, really expensive hotels like the Dorchester in London don't even check your ID card when checking in, privacy is important for business people.

All the Hyatts in Singapore, no need for a keycard for lift till 23 AM. Grand Hyatt and co all have hooker bars, so yeah...

So you haven't heard reports or seen videos of them writing graffiti in temples? You've never seen videos of them going into a feeding frenzy at a seafood buffet? You've never seen videos of them defacating in temples or in the street? You've never seen them marching down the street, ten wide and 20 deep, following the flag and trampling anyone who gets in their way? Maybe you've never heard of the zero baht tours where they come to Thailand and spend zero bahts here? My you have led a sheltered life!

Some of us have lead lives away from you tube sensationalism which appears to be where you live your life. And yes I have seen many Chinese tourist following the tour leaders flag,  never seen the trample over anybody yet.

Haven't seen one yet personally taking a crap anywhere.... But that's not my thing. Whatever turns you on in Hemel Hempstead.

The last <deleted> of note doing graffiti was the clown who couldn't even write his own name.

Scouscer  I believe some people on here labelled him

You think that whole group of Chinese is paying full price for those rooms?

I know it. In Chiang Mai are not so many group travellers from China or Korea, most individual travellers. They also like to eat at the restaurants of by example the Le Meridien and pay the full price. Expats get a 30% discounts if they are regular customers.

My bet is that Westerners outspend by quite a bit when everything is averaged out.

My bet is that you will lose this bet.

Thailand's tourism is down and Cambodia & Vietnam are way up. Coincidence?

Yes, I have been in Hanoi in March and it was full of western tourists. I also think that Myanmar will be the next big thing, when they have more good and not overpriced hotels.

I am off to Cambodia at the end of the month.  Immigration at DMK told me to get a Non O visa or never come back.  I have only spent 2.5 months here this year.

I am not going to tie up 800k Baht if I am on a long tour of all of Asean.  My goal was never to live here.  Just get my frik'n mail!

But I would have spent much more of my money here if I was allowed.  So many of my friends are moving to Cambodia, Vietnam, or Philippines.

I guess you came during the burning season. Not smart. I am leaving Chiang Mai during this time, next year 3 months to Koh Samui.

I never posted that. It seems you can´t read correctly. Makes no sense to live since 3.5 years in Chiang Mai in a hotel. But perhaps you can show me the posting.

Enjoy.  Philippines was Australia's party place in the early 70's when the US base was there.  Same girls doing the same thing g now I expect.  Check the laws first.  If you think Thailand is tough prepare for draconian

Give a bit of mouth to any official.... Deported.

You do of course understand your link is NOT some official website, but someone trying to earn some money from adsense or affiliate programs and those who searching for guest friendly, are searching for hotels that do NOT charge joiner fee

Of course you did not, you recall about director telling you, just do not recall saying you were a regular there.

Funny enough, "director" was the term you used, not me????????

And the quality tourist search for hotels that do not charge a joiner fee?

And less than 500 baht a night.

I doubt they would have got on to Miss Yinn's list search filter

Yes they do, because they pay for discretion.

It's not discreet at all to have to register a girl and pay for her at the reception.

Joiner fee is just a scam anyway, you already paid for 2 guests in every hotel. Only additional guests exceeding that can be charged.

It all depends on what you consider to be quality tourist, but "guest friendly" means no joiner fee, it does not mean hookers allowed/or not.

Also from my observation, someone who is willing to pay 7000-30 000 per night plus 1000 joiner fee is less likely to bring some hooker he found on the beach, He is more likely to bring someone who looks little more "upscale"

I once had this arguement at Arnoma 19 years ago and their response was its extra charge for security.

Being a hot head at the time, i agreed to pay the "security" fee but i wanted security guard to walk us up to the room, remain outside the room for the entire time and walk her out.

Strangely enough this is what i got, but keep in mind, it was 19 years ago and joiner fee was 700 baht, which was huge money back then.

Room was 4900 per night.

I had personal driver with his own car(from memory) for 400 per day

I was in Tesco, near Jomtien, last night and it was full of Indian looking people. When I was leaving I saw the group leader walking them back to the 5 large tour buses that were waiting for them.  What was surprising was that maybe 1 out of 10 even had a bag in their hand.  A few were  holding water bottles or drinks.  Most had nothing.

been on quite a few tours during my life including, ironically, to india

i can categorically say that tesco was never on the stop list!!

So the first sentence means "sorry, I wrote something stupid before"?

Perhaps I don´t know the correct english word. In German the boss of a hotel is the Hoteldirektor. You have an advantage because English is your native language. Sorry if I make some mistakes.

My experience of the nice Indian folk is that they share everything - 5 to a room - 1 coke 5 straws - one lady …………………….getting the picture, they spend little because they have little to spend, walk about in groups usually in the middle of the road with some sort of death wish, if Thailand is wanting to boost tourist income it is definitely not coming from India

Spot on for sure they come over on package tours and spend bugger all

Don't plan to in any country except the USA where being a do nothing bureaucrat diva is a time honored, union protected, institution.

Once the Indians realise how much the Thais hate them they will move on, like all other nations. Thais are the most horrible little racist shits on the planet. That’s the reason tourist is failing.
