Guy’s can you help with this query, I read a few posts regarding having to show evidence of 800000 baht in your Thai account when reporting for 90 days , I showed up at  the Bangkok office this week and as usually I filled the required form and presented it with my passport, I was not asked for any prove in regards to the 800000 baht, my question is should they had asked me ? I expected this to be checked in April 2020 when I reapply for my retirement visa but I read posts that people have been asked to prove 800000 at the 90 day reporting can you clarify please.

Also has there being any changes in the ACT in as far as leaving Thailand and the day of the 90 day reporting start from the date of return to thailand as it has been in the past.

Many thanks .

There is nothing in the rules that state the balance has to be checked after 90 days or 3 months or at any other time. It is assumed immigration will check you still had it there when you apply for the next extension.

Nothing has changed for doing reports of staying longer than 90 consecutive days in the country. They do not to need to be done if you do not stay longer than 90 days in the country and a new 90 days starts from the date you enter the country.

The 90 day reporting is specifically to confirm your address after 90 consecutive days in Thailand.

One or two Immigration Offices have been asking some on recently issued (post March) retirement extensions, based on money in the bank, to return after 3 months to confirm they have maintained that 800k in the bank, as the rules state.

I believe the best approach is if they do not ask you to do it, don't. (But nevertheless maintain the money as required and the  ability to prove it).

Returning to Thailand will restart the 90 day address confirming clock.

Guys many thanks for clarifying that for me.However I do have another question for you if could clarify please  . As stated above I did my 90 day reporting last week , at that time I didn’t even know about TM 30 form . Now my wife has alway accompanied me to the IM office , neither of us has ever been asked or question about the TM 30 form further to this after renewing my retirement visa this year two officers visited our home ( we where told this could happen when they reissued the visa ) the concept was to confirm that I actually live here . There was no problem in fact they where both very pleasant people they checked the home for evidence that live ( that was self evident)  took a photograph of my wife ,one of the officers and I in from of our home and that was it again there was no mention of a TM 30 requirement at this time .

Now if that the law I’am cool with that . Question is should my wife complete  this form and present it now or just wait until we are questioned about it .

Again many thanks for help
