I just started a new job and I was wondering how long a Thai police clearance is valid for? The school told me 2 years.

So does anyone know how long a Thai police clearance is valid for, as I have to make a quick decision whether or not to leave Thailand?

The police and medical clearance is based on the employer or your school not immigration/work permit/ext of stay I have a friend who teaches in Bangkok who has to police every year but medical only when he started,

Not sure what you are wanting to know.

A new police clearance is not needed unless you have to apply for a new non-b visa at a embassy or consulate.

It looks as if I can get a Non B here tomorrow after only one week? Sounds like fantasy to me, but if it doesn't work I'll have to go to another country. That's why I'm asking if my police clearance is still valid

If you are applying for a 90 day non immigrant visa (category B) at immigration or a extension of stay based upon teaching they do not ask for the police clearance certificate.

If they did want one a 2 year old one would certainly not be accepted. I would say about 3 months is the oldest they would accept.

If you go to a embassy or consulate to apply for a non-b visa you will need a recent police clearance certificate.

Thanks for your advice. I'll let you know what happens.

You do not need one to apply for an extension of stay at immigration.
