BANGKOK (NNT) - Construction of roads and other infrastructure inevitably affect normal road traffic, as seen from complaints regarding traffic congestion on Rama II road and Bang Pa-In - Khorat motorway. The Ministry of Transport is now finding ways to minimize disruptions, which will be used as model for other construction projects in the future.

The Minister of Transport, Saksayam Chidchob has led officials to visit the construction site of the intercity motorway on the Bang Pa-in - Nakhon Ratchasima route at the 7-kilometer 40th section, which is the final section of the entire route located in Nakhon Ratchasima province.

Complaints have been made regarding the construction which causes traffic congestion, especially during holiday seasons where road traffic is significantly higher. The visiting officials will be looking for issues to be solved to help alleviate the problem, which will be adopted in future constructions and highway renovation projects now planned across the country.

On the planned High Speed Railway construction which will pass through Nakhon Ratchasima city, the Minister of Transport said the tracks have now been revised to be constructed as elevated tracks to minimize disruption to road traffic, while the provincial governor has been ordered to set up a committee to consider the feasibility of a railway underpass or overpass construction at Sima Thani Hotel, where the province has proposed an underpass tunnel be constructed. The plan is set to be concluded within one month, then submitted to the Ministry of Transport.

Anyone able to put up graphic/map showing the route of this new Bangkok-Korat highway? In particular where it actually starts. Does it start in the Bang Pa-in area? Or closer to Bangkok?

The above question may sound dumb, as it's named in the article as the Bang Pa-in - Khorat motorway, but I'm kind of confused, forgive me. Is it just a section of what is actually the new Bangkok-Korat motorway?
