NACC to charge Suthep of collusion over police-station project

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) on Tuesday resolved to officially charge former deputy prime minister Suthep Thaugsuban for alleged collusion in relation to the construction of 396 new police stations nationwide, and will pass the case on to the Office of the Attorney General to indict the veteran politician for a criminal offence.

Three controversial chemicals should be banned by year’s end: Mananya

Deputy Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Mananya Thaiset on Tuesday revealed a plan to stop the use of three controversial agricultural chemicals – paraquat, glyphosate and chlorpyrifos – in Thailand. She said it was in motion and should materialise before the end of this year.

Funds inflows after yuan slide expected to further pressure baht

3 boat crew found alive after boat sinks near Koh Naka Noi, one still missing

Following the sinking of a crab fishing boat yesterday (August 5), south east of Koh Naka Noi, four persons were filed as missing. Later today (August 6), the Royal Thai Navy officials report that they had have found three survivors. The three survivors include a 27 year old Thai man, Boonrit Khaojui, a 23 year old Burmese men Aung Naing Win and 54 year old Tun Yee, while 37 year old Win Kyaw Oo remains missing.

Power off in Kamala, Phuket this Friday. Check if you’re affected.

Electricity will be out around large chunks of Kamala this Friday (August 9). The power outage will be from 9am-5pm, according to the Phuket Electrical Authority. Most of the town’s main businesses, restaurants and bars will be without power, unless they’re at the northern end of the town. Phuket Fantasea will not be affected.

Pheu Thai proposes a people’s assembly to draft a new Constitution

17 year old killed after school bus careers off road in Chumpon, 18 injured

A bus crew has been killed after a tour bus travelling from Hat Yai to Bangkok for a mathematics competition ran off the road and hit a tree. The driver and 18 student were all injured. The bus ran off the main road in Chumpon, about half-way through the journey north.

Seminar on ICAO Red Flag

BANGKOK,  (NNT) - The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)’s Red Flag for Thailand was removed in 2017 after the Thai government had solved aviation safety problems. Thailand’s aviation measures have been upgraded to meet the international standards set by the ICAO.
