geovalin
The government has rejected Vietnam’s request to automatically naturalise its citizens who are residing in the Kingdom without legal documents. The rejection follows a report by the Interior Ministry in February that stated 81,864 out of 182,673 foreign nationals surveyed held invalid documents, noting that the majority of them hailed from Vietnam. The request was made by the Vietnamese government during a two-day conference in Quảng Ninh province over the weekend. The conference, the 7th Conference of the External Relations Committee, was attended by Lao, Cambodian and Vietnamese parliament members. Chheang Vun, chairman of the National Assembly’s commission on foreign affairs, international cooperation, information and media, on Monday at Phnom Penh International Airport said the government noted the request, but responded by saying Vietnamese citizens must follow regulations. read more https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50635604/kingdom-rejects-vietnams-request-to-provide-citizenship-to-its-nationals/
