Chiang Mai Rally And The White Honda Jazz

A few weeks ago I posted a question about the financial responsibilities of a farang boyfriend to a Thai girlfriend prior to marriage. Many of you doubted the honesty of my fiancee such as her training and showing dogs at the Princess Cup, and her driving her Honda Jazz in a race. I believe Furbey made the comment that she should get extra money just for coming up with the story about car racing. Someone else suggested that no female from Issan with a child would ever race a car.

I believed her when she told me she was racing her car in Chiang Mai. It is not easy to find information; however, I did get confirmation (see below) that a female was driving a white Honda Jazz at a drag race in Chiang Mai.

Thanks.

Hi

Wow. The world is full of coincidences!

Every month there is a Drag Race meeting at the 700 Year Sports Complex here and I entered our old Alfa Romeo on Feb 11th. Couldn't help but notice an attractive young lady in - a white Honda Jazz!

For local Drags (which are professionally run but over a distance somewhat shorter than the traditional quarter mile) you need only to wear a seat belt and helmet and have a fire extinguisher fitted to the car. For a rally you need full internal roll over cage, full harness belts etc etc so it's most unlikely that she will have competed in one of those.

The Drags are utterly safe (on 4 wheels!), but, sorry, I didn't see an entry list so don't know the name.

My Thai wife and i help run the Classic Cars of Lanna enthusiast group and are well acquainted with many specialist car workshops. If we can ever be of help to your fiancee, just put her in touch
