Anyone remember the rock concert at "Love Valley" NC...probably circa early 1970...?

A "woodstock" type performance without the rain...estimate 200k people attended...I lived in NC at the time and was fully wasted by the time I got to the concert...still remember bits and pieces...????

If his old girlfriend Kathy Etchingham had not dumped him by getting married when he was on tour in the USA he might still be around. You can visit their old flat in Brook st Mayfair and the adjoining Handel house for ten quid. She had her head screwed on and was down to earth while many other women is his life, including the nutter he died with at the Samarkand hotel were total airheads.

Jimi's style of play and music is often used by Thai musicians, especially Sek Loso if you have ever seen his concerts.

Yes indeed .. As many have down the yrs .. even those who have achieved greatness thereselves like Clapton , Page , Beck and many more all mention him as a major influence in their work .. Clapton himself has recalled how when new in London J H attended a gig that Clapton was playing where all the pop/rock royalty of the day were present .. Clapton aware of his presence invited him up for a jam .. Hendrix it is said reluctantly accepted and almost had to be led on stage before eventually setting the place alight with a version of Howling Wolfs " Killing Floor " a song that Eric had been trying to master and perfect .. It is said at this point Clapton moved to the stage side and marvelled with the rest of the gobsmacked audience at what they were witnessing .. From that moment they formed a strong friendship right through to J H's death ..
