The whole case has been a farce.

The Dutch government should hang their heads in shame.

Hopefully some powerful people and the media in the Netherlands pick up on this story and create a storm so that both these people are released asap.

Absolutely outrageous story.

The only winners here are the corrupt officials who will have a nice earner on the assets/proceeds.

Disgusting.

Not half s disgusting as the farce with the two Myanmar boys who will be executed for crimes done  by rich Thai persons . Found guilty by corrupt courts and police.

Should have kept the money off shore, his mistake was to deposit the money into a Thai bank, under Thai law the money has been gained from illegal drug selling activities, regardless of country where the drugs sold/money  may have been made.It didnt help that the Dutch authorities notified Thai authorities that it was from selling ganga.

so he tried to "hide" his money and profits by buying several luxury cars?  Buying luxury cars in Thailand is not really a good way to "hide"!

This is pretty standard method for hiding money. Buying classic, exotic, etc cars.

It may be a way to Launder money, but having several luxury cars is hardly keeping a low profile

Maybe not here but in States they are just mothballed generally. At least by the smarter folks. I could see some ghetto dwellers or banditos having a compulsion to buy big exotic cars and drive them but the smart money buys 50-70s classics maybe even vintage European sports cars for cash and just puts them away.
