Β

Kalasin’s Pong Lang performance is one part of northeastern cultural heritage which has been included in the national cultural heritage list this year. Pong Lang is an instrument that is played at festivals to entertain people and people form a group to do activities. It not only fosters unity but also brings pride to the communities.

Β

The Ministry of Culture has prepared a list of cultural heritage practices and honored the outstanding cultural network of partners who emphasize the existence of cultural heritage and promote the participation of the community in preserving, restoring and protecting local and national cultural heritage in a sustainable manner.

Β

From 2009-2018, 336 cultural heritage practices were added to the inventory. This year, an additional 18 aspects of cultural heritage will be added to the inventory and there will be 354 cultural heritage practices in total. The latest 18 cultural heritage items are those such as folk literature and language and performing arts. Kalasin’s Pong Lang falls into the category of performing arts. There are also practical aspects regarding nature and the universe as well as folk plays and martial arts which reflect the distinctive identity of the province.

The title declares open season for the Thai haters. I wonder if that's deliberate?

Β

OK. Here's your starter for 10.

Β

1. Fighting 6 to 1.

Β

2. Riding without a helmet.

Β

3. Driving with zero regard for the safety of others or self.

Β

4. Thai "face". Say no more, probably the oldest tradition.

Β

5. Good (or not) Chinese/Indians in, good farangs out.

Β

I'll leave the serious Thai haters to fill in the rest.

Not surprising that "democracy" is not mentioned to be preserved, restored nor protected.
