Most Chinese come to Thailand to see the ladyboy shows, massage, durian and Thai food that they can't find back home.

Beaches? China has beaches all along the east coast.

With the strong Thai, it's better to get their durian fix from Malaysia although you can't get ladyboys in Malaysia.

Your post is telling your age and what TV shows you watched as a kid. (They were great, weren't they, before politically correct came along.)

It's got to the point where the bad guy can't wear a black hat as it might insult someone.

Meanwhile TAT will release figures soon again contradictory to this report...

sure, but where in Thailand is this Bali place?

just making a comparison. Also it may be a clue as to where the westerners are going on holiday if not to Thailand

I doubt an overflow of Westerners... just more Aussies... would you call them "down under" easterners?

I wouldn't call an Aussie an Asian, for me they are westerner despite their geographical location

I hear they're opening up an Indian-themed club there. Yay.

Long open and more than one.

Never set foot there.

Just heard that the volume might leave you deaf.

2 million visitor to Paris spend EUR 1 billion or EUR500/person, makes TAT's 50,000 baht/person look a little rosy.

At €20 for a coffee I can understand the figures. ????????

My flight to Taipei from BKK (thai air) and return flight from Hong Kong to BKK last week (Cathay Pacific) (part of an american trip) were very very empty.

Was seeking tickets from China to Bangkok. Prices for this normal cost me 1700 rmb. But I have not been able to find tickets for less than 4000 rmb now. Almost the same cost to fly to America. This is part of the problem. Thailand airlines triple the fees for dares when they think many Chinese will want to fly

What? Penang is crowded.

I am hoping that the Chinese go to other Asian countries this Winter..

Thailand  TAT and government would not have very happy people in

the tourist  industry...

Geezer

I heard that as well, and I'm in Toronto.  Was told the main attraction would be either 3 or 5 straws to every bottle of beer depending of the brand.

'nuf sed.

Not trying to diss you, but I recall that this photo was in Rio during the Pope's visit in 2013.

However, if I didn't remember that, I would have believed it was a Chinese beach...

Fake news - tourism is on the increase according to TAT.

Fake news. Lots of Chinese tourists in Bangkok and Hua Hin.  Just saw a group of around 75 entering Bts Nana.  But maybe low budget traveling tourists doesn't count.

of course - downturn in business - jack up the prices, class 101 of Thai business skills.

Don't know about now but 3 years ago the wife and I had to go to the Chinese embassy visA place...for visa's....and we arrived @6.15am only to find a que of 80+ people in front of us.  So if that's any indication the Thai's are keen as mustard to go to China even if the Chinese are less inclined to come here...I don't know what is.

You should have chosen this real Chinese beach, far more tranquil and romantic.
