PM says military attaches can publicize country’s good image

BANGKOK (NNT) - Prime Minister/Defense Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha delivered policy to military attaches to help create proper understanding about Thailand and make more friends.

Gen Prayut presided over the sending-off ceremony at the Ministry of Defense headquarters for the military attaches who will be posted to the United Nations headquarters in New York and Thai embassies from October 1, 2019 and April 1, 2020.

The prime minister said the military attaches are carrying out important missions for the country, thus are expected to cherish love and unity while working with their military counterparts in several foreign countries.

The military attaches are expected to cooperate with the Thai ambassadors in those countries. They were advised to publicize good things about Thailand and create proper understanding about this country.

They were also advised to apply good things from their host countries in order to keep the Thai government and Ministry of Defense on a par with the foreign countries.

The prime minister also attended a briefing by students of the 61st class of the National Defense College, Joint Staff College, Army War College, Navy War College and Air Force War College on national strategies to steer the country toward stability, prosperity and sustainability at the National Defense Studies Institute.

The prime minister expressed his admiration for the students’ comprehensive, straightforward suggestions in line with government plans and national strategies, some of which have already been implemented while others are in the process.

The prime minister said the government will continue to carry them out, though they may encounter difficulties. He said he enjoys good teamwork with all deputy prime ministers and other cabinet ministers.

Oh, it's General now, thought he was only PM....?

Do you think that the U.N. might notice how much has been spent on Military hardware Vs the recent Floods?

Or do you think they won't notice; after all, one can't see Submarines, coz they under the sea?

????Things are much better,

where it is wetter,

under the sea. ????

the operating word here is "proper"...

The PM wants to them to project his image of Thailand, not the reality.

It never ceases to amaze me how the TV farang here like to continually slag Thailand and it's government. It must be sad being in a country that is so bad and everything and it's government is no good. Why the hell do you want to stay here then ???  move on … try Indonesia, Cambodia or Lao ….

I'm sure you will be much happier there... lol

I love Thailand and it's people, I didn't come here to moan and bitch and whinge daily about the country and it's government, I respect Thailand for what it is and what it provides, I can jump through the circus hoops as needed and at the end of the day I just enjoy my life, unlike a lot of TV farang.

This government has bought stability and security to Thailand, it's economy is on track and it has implemented hundreds of projects as can be seen all over Thailand. This government has achieved more in the past 4 years than the previous did in 10 yrs.

I welcome Thailand with open arms, and I don't care for the moaners that want to whinge all day.

Good job Khun Prayut   …..     good luck to those who appreciate Thailand for what it is.

Maybe the Order Of The DCM.

Only military connected personnel are the apple of his eye. On the cartoon, I don't see any tanks, military transports or submarines, must have forgot those.

Change is in the wind.

You mean they have a choice?  The Thai Military always seems to be autonomous from everything or have alterer motives.   Is there mission to blow sunshine up people's back sides?  Very odd comment to make.

The carrying out important missions wouldn't be spying on the military capabilities of other countries would it?

The military, just by the very nature of the beast, is not an entity designed to cherish love and unity

Oh my oh my, how I would dearly love to see the satirists, cartoonists and comedy groups of the so called free world  get stuck into these knob heads. They probably wouldn't waste their time and this delusional vision is unlikely to get off the ground anyway.

I advocated this political change in the beginning

Hands up, I have been proved to be wrong on a weekly basis, sometimes daily......

Right, but you won’t be explaining the situation to fellow Thais. You’ll be explaining to foreigners. And in most other cultures they ask questions. It’s Kinda important for a country’s development. So how will saying things like, “you think too much” and “the law is the law”, etc, going to help create anything other than more confusion?

Just  like the education system where most of the nation actually  believes  the <deleted> they've  spouted, where those that speak the truth have been exiled, where the  books  and information on this "real  Thailand"  are  banned and where  some posters can show you this even now in their replies on this forum.

Being in Cuckoo Land is what he does best, it just seems to come natural to him.

After his success with the GT200 - still using it back in 2012:

Well personally, I have come to the conclusion that only by living here can I appreciate the stunning irony and hilarious content of your posts! Living elsewhere they would somehow lose their impact.

I noticed that you were not entirely pleased with the accomplishments of the previous administration. Did you complain then - yet you stayed? Or were you equally happy then? And you only complain about them now? I’m confused. Should I or should I not emigrate when I don’t like what the government does? Can I only complain about previous governments? Maybe you just arrived in Thailand? Please explain.

how many attache cases to be carried? two?? one for the good, and one for the fake...

I won't dwell on the question if Thailand, as a country, has a "good image". Let's say it has.

The Thai military, on the other hand, doesn't have a good image by any stretch of the imagination. Any foreigner who knows anything about the Thai military knows that they are useless and corrupt on their good days and murdering their fellow citizens on their bad days.

Not really the kind of ambassador you'd want to employ, but then again, look who came up with that brilliant idea.

Thailand and its good image is the same as grossly overweight people insisting they are merely plus size. Enough with the <deleted>.

This PM ist still keeping Thailand and the people under the rule of a military controlled and lead "government ". The elections were just a fake!! In a country that tries eliminate fake news, but they produce them for the public!

Wow, just look at that Chinese 24/7 surveillance of every square inch. And how about that social credit score!  Let's get us some of that.
