Immigration police in "Nana" area crime sweep on Monday night

2pm.jpg

Immigration police Division 1 inspected businesses and operators throughout the Nana area of Bangkok on Monday night.

Led by Pol Col Chatchawan Thippichai starting at 8 pm they visited Sois 3 - 5 on Sukhumvit Road checking on foreign workers and work permits.

Shops and businesses were given advice on complying with 1979 laws.

Naew Na said it was conducted in accordance with immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang's orders.

The public can call 1178 to report illegal activity, they said.

There were no reports of arrests.

Did they also check for drug dealers or will that happen on another day?

  • Other than tuktuk drivers and a couple boner pill vendors who can get you weed, I’ve never seen any drug dealers on Sukhumvit.

  • I'm law abiding and I go there on the odd occasion when I can slip the chain.

Thais really gotta look at themselves more. Yesterday we had a bunch of mahine gunholding special police with a warrant to search our house turn up. They were looking for drugs and guns. What a joke! Im an old man. Havent even seen a drug in 30yrs.. and guns? Well, one things for sure i dam well need them.

We complained about local corruption and this is one of many things that happen as retaliation and there will be much more to come.

This country is out of control!

Same as the sweep of Pattaya.. just PR

nothing illegal going on in a shoe shop... but a bit further up the street!

They do not require work permits

1979 laws would be a lot to remember is that's just todays list????

I like Nana and have been going there for years. I hope they clean up sois 3 and 5 as they need some immigration police over there. If only they could require showers as a prerequisite to living here all would be good. ????

Plenty of cocaine and after hour drug bars on soi 3. Have a conversation with a young bar girl if you want to know the locations. Personally I don’t participate but Soi 3 and 5 need some immigration police to clean up that area.

I was referring to other substances they might be trading.
