King Chula Postponed Surgery
A little off topic. I have had 3 hernia operations at 2 different sites - one when I was about 10 years old, another at about 40 and the final one at about 50 - in Australia. The first two were in my groin area, and were classified as emergencies - for the first I was operated on in a private hospital, about 2 hours after seeing the doctor; for the second one, I was diagnosed in a public hospital ER late one Friday afternoon, the surgeon who saw men wanted the swelling to decline to make surgery easier, so I was operated on the following Monday morning. -

Asylum Seeker Accused of Running £12 Million Migrant Smuggling Operation Days After Arriving
If convicted, I'm sure he will get a light sentence under the 2 tier sentencing guidelines and then be allowed to stay in the UK as sending him back would infringe his human rights under the ECHR. British immigration and British "justice" is completely broken. -

Democrats Face Backlash for Supporting Arrested Palestinian Activist Mahmoud Khalil
That raises an interesting question- Where would Mahmoud Khalil be sent if he were deported from the U.S. ? He is a citizen of Algeria, but no one has yet explained how and when he got Algerian citizenship. All the reports I've read have said he was born and raised in Syria, then went to Lebanon for his university education and after that worked in Syria and Lebanon until he went to the U.S. What's his connection to Algeria? Syrian law doesn't allow Palestinians to become citizens of Syria except in very rare cases. Presumably he would be entitled to Palestinian citizenship because his parents were Palestinians, but there's no indication he has ever been to Palestine or made any attempt to formalize citizenship there. Would Algeria take him? If Algeria refused, where would he be sent?
