All,

Thank you for reading my post. I am in a quandry. I arrived in Thailand in June 2019 with a single entry B Visa. Almost immediately upon arrival we started the work permit process application. As my visa was running out I asked the Thai people helping me with the process what was happening. They said when you get your work permit just extend your B visa to an annual one. At least that is what I thought I heard.

My B visa ran out on Tuesday 10th and I was due to pick up my permit on 13th.

I turn up to collect the permit to be told that the job I was doing was restricted to Thai nationals. The error in the work permit people is that i do not do that job but train Thai people to do it. The work Permit problem will be resolved but in the short term I am on overstay. My quandry is whether to apply for an extension on my old visa whilst the work permit is resolved or go elsewhere and get an entirely nrew visa.

I would benefit the wisdom of this group

Many thanks

It seems you only option may be to get a new single entry non-b visa.

You need leave the country to clear your overstay as soon a possible. The fine for an overstay is 500 baht per day.
