But did he file his TM30?  That would surely have lead the cops straight to him!

  • Of course biometrics played a part. Which part?

They caught him.   Scanned his finger prints.   Then scanned them again and they matched.

Another foreign criminal hiding in Hua Hin. Who Thai Immigration allowed to enter. If they did a better job checking when they entered there would be far fewer foreign criminals throughout Thailand. Maybe already have that (dodgy) look and easy to spot. The TM 30 & 28 will never work as far as finding the bad guys. Stop be so concerned about tourism. Maybe have bar raids at least once a night in Hua Hin and you should be able to fill a few truck loads of the pests.

Be careful what you wish for, the could install facial recognition in every 7/11

Maybe this is the true, 7/11 have video in connection with central police for security and I think is easy connect with computer police facial recognition, maybe is this speaking about police Thai.

why do they have to make up all these huge, elaborate boards everytime they arrest someone.

Why because it's all about perception here in the LOS; it's not what you do but how you look to everyone else in the Kingdom.

Can you just image the local New York Police or City of London police creating such elaborate pieces of artwork for every bust like this; no it would be a whiteboard and sick on artifacts and photos at best.

They would spend their valuable time actually investigating and apprehending criminals rather than wasting resources, time and energy on creating useless mosaic displays and looking pretty for press conferences.

 Go figure.....................

Biometrics there you go.

Facial recognition scanners in all the malls? Train and bus stations? That new system they bought...

But yes here again, TM30 falls short.

It is not done every time but how does it affect you adversely if it is done
