mail order china to thailand? what are customs rules

shouldnt it be easier to mail something from china to thailand?  as an american we mail order stuff to usa all the time .  and small items dont get charged duty fees..............what about thailand ?  shouldnt this process be getting easier over time?  what amount of baht will customs over look?

Pretty much the same here, small items ($50 US or so) by regular post get through mostly unmolested.

 

Anything sent by courier (if it has the correct tariff code) will be charged at the prevailing duty and VAT rates for the item.

 

What do you intend ordering? Pharma, medical equipment, clothes, shoes can attract punitive duty rates (pharma, and medical may require an import licence).

I buy a lot of mostly useless stuff from China,as long as it's in a small parcel,

Thai customs don't seem to bother,just don't get it sent by courier .

1,500 normally, including transport costs, but remember express transport type companies have flat rate customs for speedy clearance so most shipments are charged.

 

As for China it is easy and many merchants on Shopee/Lazada and other direct Chinese platforms mail items without incurring duty.

i want to buy a razor kick scooter.  i think it costs about 70 dollars us ..........would rather send it from china to thailand instead of carrying it on a plane in carry on bag
