112 million, not 120..

no being asked as the answer is in the article:

built more than 30 years ago. Its concrete foundations were heavily damaged by the severe flooding in 2011

So I made a little error. Big deal. 8 million is just chump change to this government. Besides, there'll be a discount for building the houses for the have-nots. Can still build 120 with 112 million.

The residence-cum-guesthouse-cum-VIP-division will feature a deep-river port so the three China-made submarines can berth there.

The subs will be parked there permanently (an aircraft carrier in Sattahip springs to mind)  as Apinan Poengsrithong and his cronies will be entertaining the enemies until they do not represent any danger anymore.

Keep up the good work; unclear remains only, what the air force will have up its sleeve to retaliate in style for their VIP-accomodation. Also not clear yet is, how to explain it to all those grannies in Northeastern Thailand, who live far below the minimum income level without running water while nursing their grandkids as their kids are busy in Bangkok; some of 'em entertaining most likely as pretties in befitting VIP environment ????

112 mln B ( say 3.8 mln USD) may sound like a lot of money (especially is one does not have it in the bank) but could be cheap, who knows.

How many SQF/SQM are being built and
does it include F&F, Furniture, Landscaping, doors and windows, a puddle or a lap pool etc. ?

if built 11.200 sqm it is cheap, if 2.240 likely more luxurious.

as a reference, a USA hotel room costs turn key and excluding land between 75.000 $ and 600.000 $ to build, for budget and luxury respectively.
so say 3000$ (or about 100.000 B) to 10.000 - 15.000  $ (300.000 - 450.000 B) per sqm.

Now, let's consider again whether the 112.million construction is expensive or cheap ?

I do hope the Airforce Chief also gets something on this grand scale to bring him in line with his army and navy colleagues, wouldn't want him to lose face now, would we! Disgusting!

Meanwhile in a place not too distant....

No doubt the eldest son / breadwinner of this family will be liable for conscription, thus plunging them deeper into poverty!

Any normal, modern nation - any democracy doesn't really have VIPs. When the president of the USA travels he often stays in hotels. Everyone stays in hotels even Arab princes.

I've got the from signage all taken care of:

I really do hope the Thai people wake up one day and vote with a little more thought as to the outcome of their actions!

When they wake up, I doubt they will bother with voting!

I take issue with you posting a picture of my estate (Baan Farang Kee Nio) without permission.

"The excess of one is the shortage of another" there are so many wrongs with the premise that an army guy should have such a mansion for his use i don't know where to begin, and what makes it worse that whoever authorised and pay for it sees nothing wrong with it including the PM...

The PM? 55555.

And proof of how much money they are taking (stealing) left and right flowing in their pockets . I like the post of neeray , let them build not 120 1milj baht houses but about 600 200k baht houses to house poor family's i think they can build quit a nice house for 200k baht doesn't have to be a palace just big and strong enough .

I totally agree with you. 200K would build some very ample shelter. I was only using 1 million as a point of reference as I am personally aware of a "townhome" purchased for that amount (by a lady friend).
