3 Voa's In A Year Can I Go Back?

Featured Replies

Hi all, I was in thailand for 2 weeks in April 2006, and again for 17 days in Feb.,durning that trip I went to laos for 1 day, thus another entry. My question is can I go back to thailand again this year, with a voa? I called the embassy here in hawaii USA and was told that they didn't have a ruling from their goverment yet, and to call the airline I went with to get visa info. I did a search ,but didn't get anything recent. If things work out with my new gf (another post) I would like to go back a few more times . Is this possible? What type of visa would be best and easyest? I am 53,from US,and have money in my account. Thanks in advance for any info or advice,Chris.

The rule is you are allowed 90 days total Visa exempt stamps (not VOA) in a period of 180 days.

You have had 16 days. You will be ok to come back.

Ummmm well ... if your visit in Feb was Feb of 2007 then you have used some days in this rolling 180 days <Apr 2006 doesn't matter at all>

However, why not just get a tourist visa and be done with the visa exempt entries?

Thanks for the replies.I guess I had the wrong info, seems like the Thai embassy might have known.I've read about 90 days out of 180, but thought there was also a3 entries in 1 year rule. I thought that I had voa's maybe they were visa exempt stamps. So I guess I can return as often as I want if I don't stay more than 90 days out of 180? jdinasia,I think I would have to fly to anotherisland and stay there for 2 days to get a visitors visa, probably $500.00 for flight and room, but if it is better than I will go that way. I will try calling the thai embassy again and see if I can get a visitor visa. thanks again for your time,Chris.

You should be able to get a double or triple entryTourist Visa in USA. Can apply by post. No need to go anywhere.
