CP group seals deal on high-speed airport rail

The Charoen Pokphand-led consortium and the State Railway of Thailand today (October 24) signed the contract for the development of a high-speed railway linking three international airports, presided over by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Two migrant workers from Myanmar on death row in Thailand for the murder of two British backpackers in 2014 have submitted a request for King Maha Vajiralongkorn to commute their sentence to imprisonment, their lawyer said on Thursday.

US urges Thailand to delay ban on pesticide as it will affect Bt51-bn of imports

The US Agricultural Department is calling for a delay on the ban on agro-chemical glyphosate, because it says the ban will disrupt Thailand’s import of soybean, wheat, coffee, apples, grapes and other agricultural produce, which is worth Bt51 billion annually, from the US and other trading partners.

Energy Ministry to release B10 compatibility stickers to attract car buyers

Following the Energy Ministry’s announcement this week that use of B10 biodiesel (diesel mixed with 10 per cent pure palm oil) as the standard biodiesel nationwide would come into force on January 1, Energy Minister Sontirat Sontijirawong said on Thursday (October 24) that the next step would be to push the use of B10 biodiesel to 57 million liters per day within the second quarter of 2020.
