You might not be able to change to a spouse extension using a O-A visa. They might insist you leave the country and get a Non O. That’s easily obtained if necessary.

As long as your wife still has Thai ID. and a copy of her registered in a Tabian Baan, it should be possible.

Be very careful with this one because if you apply for a multi entry marriage visa then it will cost you more plus you will be required to leave Thailand every 90 days but if you work it right you can get 15 months out of this visa. The other visa is a 90 day Non-Imm "O" visa and then after 60 days you apply for an extension based on your marriage and then you will do your 90 day reports at your local immigration office. There is no health insurance involved with either of these visas at the moment.

Get a 90 day O Visa based on marriage to a Thai in LA and then get a Visa extension at your local (neighborhood) Immigration office in Thailand.

That is correct, but the Catch-22 in all these matters is the last bit: "at the moment."

That’s not correct.

If someone has a ME Non O they can apply for a 1 year extension at the end of the first 90 days (same as a SE), or at the end of any subsequent 90 day entry/stay.

you guys use the term oa interchangeably  as if they are the same .. they are not the same they both have slightly different requirements  correct?   .. so when you use oa it gets confusing when adding info ... can we separate the two or have ONE pinned page that has the info from different countries ...

in the above post ... quote "apply for a multi entry marriage visa"  this would be an O correct ?

then then it goes on .. non-imm O  which to me is the same thing correct ?  multi or single entry aside ..

non imm marriage 0 is ONE visa with specific requirements ..

as i read and learn the types of visas all of these comments make for a very confusing case of miscommunication and misunderstanding ...along with the io's following different rules  .. alright i reread the above quote and i think i see the difference ..

the diff is after the mult or single o visa is approved   ..

as i read the above quote "it will cost you more plus you will be required to leave Thailand every 90 days but if you work it right you can get 15 months out of this visa"

how do i get 15 months ?

then

"The other visa is a 90 day Non-Imm "O" visa and then after 60 days you apply for an extension based on your marriage and then you will do your 90 day reports at your local immigration office"

is this a single entry .. ?

fyi not picking on you for the post  i am using it as a way to ask questions and i am sure that 90 percent of you can interpret this due to personal experience but some of us dont have that yet

please correct me on any of this ... f

There’s a big differences between an O and O-A visa.

Correct. A Non O issues on the basis that you’re married to a Thai.

It’s actually possible to nearly 17 months.

A ME Non O is valid for entries for 1 year. If — having already spent 1 year in the country — you make a final entry just before the visa expires you’ll receive a final 90 day stay. That’s approximately 15 months. You can then get a 60 day extension giving a total of nearly 17 months.

At the end of any 90 day stay from a SE or ME Non O you can apply for a 1 year extension of stay. And once issued with the extension you must report your address to immigration every 90 days.
