Farbon
I wanted to know if anyone can confirm the exact paperwork/details that are needed to apply for a single entry non-o visa in Savannakhét. From what I gather I need the following : - Copy of birth certificate - Copy of house book Is there anything I am missing? Assuming this is all I need I had a couple additional questions : - Does the birth certificate need to be translated into English or is the original Thai version acceptable? - Does any paperwork need to be signed by the mother of my child? - Do I need any bank statements if I am applying in Savannakhét? Thanks in advance!
ubonjoe
You will need your child's original birth certificate and a copy of it. They will accept the Thai birth certificate without it being translated. You can sign the copies your child's documents. You could be asked to show 20k bath in the bank when you apply. Even at Savannakhét? Is it ok to have 20k baht in cash?

I was only warning you it could be needed. Cash will not be accepted for proof. They want something they can keep for their records.

RayHaas
In Vientiane they have the following Rules: 1: Original Birth Certificate 2: Copy Birth Certificate 3: Copy ID card (if kid over 8 year old) 4: House Book registration Copy of kid/mom 5: Copies of your passport etc 6: Bank Statements from the last 6 months Not sure why in Savannakhét the rules are much more relaxed. ubonjoe
5 minutes ago, RayHaas said: 6: Bank Statements from the last 6 months They do not enforce that requirement. The most recent report for a back to back non-o visa was only proof of 20k baht in the bank on the date of application.
Our Man in the Tropics
I recommend to bring also : a_ "original" Tabien Baan [ "Housebook" ( Blue or Yellow ) ] for where the child is registered b_ photocopies of all of a_ [ above ] c_ "original" Government Identity Card of mother of child d_ "signed" [ with "blue ball-pen" ] photocopy of c_ [ above ] e_ written letter -- in Thai or English ? -- [ signed with "blue ball-pen" ] from mother of the child in support of u applying for this particular type "O" visa based on being parent of her, together with your, Thai child ADDENDUM Certificate of Legitimisation of Parenthood I think that they expect the applicant to definitely have obtained Legitimisation of Parenthood for the child, & thus supply the proof of that [ "original" Certificate of Legitimisation, & also photocopy of it ] Photocopies Particular photocopies being supplied by applicant I gather are appreciated because they ease the processing of the application by the consulate. Ajvat37
I have gotten 3 non-o this year already for Thai child. I have never needed to show 20k, the mothers original ID card, legal paperwork for legitimization or the original house book. You do need the mothers and child’s copy of the house book both signed by the mother, have the mothers ID card copy signed by her also. The original and a copy of the birth certificate, and of course your passport copies. If you can have the mother write a short letter on the copy of her ID card saying you are the father and that you take care of your child and to please issue you a visa, I needed this in HCMC but not savanakhet this year. And your visa photos! Edited November 6, 2019 by Ajvat37
