Dylan Taylor's trial in May 2018 heard he was the only one of four intruders to be caught

A fugitive who caused £140,000 of damage by ram-raiding a shop has been brought back to the UK from Thailand after 18 months on the run.

Dylan Taylor, 43, of Lichfield Avenue in Torquay was found guilty of burglary at Exeter Crown Court in June 2018.

He absconded and was sentenced to seven and a half years in his absence.

Police tweeted Taylor had now been brought back from south east Asia to start his jail term.

Still have no idea what 'ram raiding' is?  Care to elaborate for us foreigners?

It's a rather primitive method for breaking into stores (esp. Jewelry stores and such), bank lobbies, etc. Basically to get at goods that are behind armoured/reinforced (shop-)windows, via ramming the windows/glass plates with a vehicle. Preferably a stolen one, and a large(r) one, such as a SUV, pick-up truck, etc.

Some take it further, by ie entering or breaking into a bank foyer, tying steel cables or heavy chains around the ATM, mounting the other end onto the vehicle's frame, and then gunning it in order to rip the ATM out of it's foundation.

The ATM is then loaded onto the getaway vehicle (which often is a seperate one, as - depending on what you use - the first one can get damaged and/or is most often stolen + probably visibly on camera and thus easier found when the cops start arriving & searching, etc.), and opened at another location.

I'm not sure where exactly this guy broke into though. Just explaining the method in general.

Also: Good riddance. Ole Dylan will probably become a victim of ram rodding/raiding himself, courtesy of DaQuandreon, Chimere and JaKweel.

Type in  "youtube ram raiding " at    google.com and you will see quite a few cctv videos of how it works and why the damage is usually worth more than the theft....
