Douglas Latchford charged with selling looted Cambodian antiquities

The former president of a Thai body building association has been charged with hawking looted Cambodian antiquities from heritage sites such as Angkor Wat and Koh Ker to auction houses and collectors around the world.

 

Douglas Latchford — who remains at large in Thailand where sources confirmed he once headed the South East Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation — allegedly sold priceless pieces from the ancient Khmer Empire, falsifying invoices and other records in order to conceal that the items were illegally excavated and smuggled out of the country.
