Thirty-odd year sufferer of GERD/GORD. Omeprozole works for me. My issues started with taking diclofenec in the mid- to late-eighties when "take with food" meant "with a glass of milk". Great! Gastric ulcers at 22. Gastroscopy at 32. Scar tissue. Omeprazole since ~2002 BUT, please bear with me... Mixing milk and eggs; Lamb and pork fat; Milky alcoholic drinks (Bailey's, White Russians, proper Egg Nog, atholl brose) Drinking coffee before eating something solid and (most importantly) eating less than two hours before bed. You may want to stay on the omeprazole even if "they"say its detrimental for long-term use. I'm not a medical doctor, but it's available OTC here for about 20-30 baht for a ten-pack. Maybe stay the course and take it in the morning, an hour before you eat or drink anything non-clear.
