All Border Crossings To Burma Ordered Closed?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Haven't been on here for a while, so this might already have been discussed. I heard on TV yesterday that all Burmese Border crossings will be shut as of a couple of days from now. I asked my wife about it and she told me that she heard that a Thai military Man was killed by Burmese and that relations are strained between Thailand and Burma at the moment.

Nothing new really. I have seen the Burmese border closes a few times in the past few years, but I have to make a visa run on the 6th and so do many other people around this time, so I thought it was worth mentioning.

Hope they resolve it by then. I like that bike ride up to Mae Sai.

Just returned from 3 days in Burma visa MaeSai - no problem. Come on up.

Just a little trouble at one border crossing;

Yeah, I must have misunderstood something on the news a few days ago. My wife says that they call it local problems now and only closed two crossings for a few days. Mae Sai is open. She phoned immigration for me and they gave her their full story on what and why. Main thing is, I can make my border run ;-)

Thanks again

Kurt
