BANGKOK(NNT) - A meeting of the Sustainable Development Committee, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister, Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan, is to apply His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s principle of "Understand, Access and Develop" in its work to create balance in the economy, society and the environment and to reduce inequality.

The Office of the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) on Tuesday (November 19) issued an announcement referring to an accusation made against Future Forward Party leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit for lending money to his own party, which may be a violation of election and political party law according to article 66 of Political Party Act B.E. 2560.

The core government party, Palang Pracharat, has questioned the Future Forward party’s respect for human dignity for its indifference to and inaction over Tuesday’s incident when four monitor lizard toys, tagged with the names of four rebel MPs, were displayed at the party’s Thai Summit Building head office, ahead of a meeting to discuss the expulsion of the rebels.

Foreign tourist numbers on course to hit 39 million next week

More than 38 million foreign tourists have visited Thailand since January 1 to December 20, the highest number in many years and the total is expected to hit 39 million on December 27, TAT public relations director Thanet Petchsuwan said.

Heathrow's new runway delayed until at least 2028

LONDON (Reuters) - An expansion plan for Britain’s Heathrow Airport will be delayed by more than a year and a third runway now will probably be completed between early 2028 and late 2029, the airport said.

MANILA (Reuters) - Philippine authorities said on Friday they arrested 342 Chinese workers in a raid on an unlicensed gambling operation, part of a crackdown on illegal migration and an illicit gaming industry that is being fuelled by mainland China’s appetite for betting.

Close to 5m passengers expected at AOT airports from Dec 26 to Jan 5

The Airports of Thailand (AOT) expected a total of 4.93 million passengers passing through its six airports, from December 26 to January 5, increasing 2.29 per cent from the same period last year, AOT president Nitinai Sirismatthakarn said today (December 20).
