Its so simple all internet providers show of speeds in megabits, you need to divide this by 8 to get to speed in megabytes. 

 

There are 8 bits in a byte. 

 

just look at the advertised speeds below.

Thanks Robb. We all know that no-one except Polar Bear measures internet speed or bandwidth in MB/s = Mega Bytes per second, SSD capacity and file sizes are in MB = Mega BYTES. Happy What-not.

Have you not noticed that you're the only person confused here? 

 

People write mbps/mbits/Mbps/MBPS to show the advertised speed, so divided by 8 to get mb/sec or meg/sec

 

its that simple, you're the only one getting confused.
