My Passport Is Almost Full

You cannot get pages added to a UK passport. You need a new passport

Yes, same thing happened to me but it's no problem getting a new one-apart from the cost :o I got mine in Chiang Mai. The passport application was sent down from the consulate there to Bangkok and a new passport was returned a couple of weeks later. Find out where your nearest consulate is and good luck :D

you dont even have to go into the uk consulate in person.you can print off the application form from the uk web site & post it ems along with payment by postal order, including the 40 baht fee for the return postage (ems) allowing plenty of time for the process.if you do this though i would recommend phoning the consulate to see how things are going as they assumed i was going in to collect the passport, when in fact i wanted it posted,(or leave an additional note in the envelope for returned delivery)but it arrived a day after the phone call.also maybe photo copy your front & back pages.

Two things, one the price went up on 1st April, no joke :o

Fee # --- Type of Passport ---- Fee in £ ---- Fee in Baht

12 © (I) --- 32-Page ---- 119 ---- 8,568

13 © --- 48-Page ---- 144 ---- 10,368

12 © (II) --- Child passport ---- 76 ---- 5,472

My understanding was that the 48 pager was not available, though maybe that has changed, I've just seen that the introduction page states that "The British Embassy Bangkok now issue both 32 & 48 page passports"

Second remember that it's easter on the 6 through 9 April

Regards

THanks

Can i get a new passport in Phenom Penh?

No, they send them to Bangkok.

Forgot to add that the Bangkok embassy will also be closed for Songkran 13 to 16 April.

Regards

So if i go to the british consul in phnom penh and ask for a new passport replacement they will send it to Bangkok for me? Meaning that I can get a passport in phenom penh? Surely i must be able to get a passport in PP - otherwise how can i leave cambodia with a full passport? Or in the event that someone lost their passport in cambodia how would they be able to leave the country?

Please explain your reply? They send my passport to bangkok or they send me to bangkok?

Thought it would be self explanatory, however, you may apply in PP, assuming that the immigration authorities can affix the one page Cambodian Stamp + half a page for the stamps {though you may have a visa for there} to allow you entry and that you have more then 6 months duration left on your passport. After you have applied there, then the passport is sent to Bangkok and thence to the UK adding further processing time. {Note there may be an issue with Section 10 re signatory as well, since you don't 'live' in Cambodia}

Hope that clarifies.

I had a strange experience in Belgium with the signatory when I was replacing a stolen passport.

I explained that I had no-one to sign it but they could send it to a pal at another UK Mission who i have known for 20+ years and is a senior diplomat.

They said they could not do that but just to get my "Belgian" boss to sign who had known me less than 6 months - I got my passport.

My passport is almost full to after a tad over 3 years and will have to get one from the High Commission in Singapore - the fee is now 446 SGD!!!!!

THanks for your reply

What is "section 10" and "signatory"

Thanks

If you download the application form there is a requirement for a signatory on the form and the obverse of one of the two identical photographs, {which must comply with the new format and image requirements}, of a British Citizen who has known you for 2 years or a suitable 'local' equivalent {lawyer banker doctor etc.}. Recently there has been some discussion that if you are surrendering your passport in person and collecting it yourself this requirement may be waived, but I've not been able to confirm that.

Thanks for your reply. This is very useful information because i did not consider that at all!

I will call the consulate in person and get them to confirm if this signatory is required - perhaps as my passport is only 3 years old and my appearance has not changed they may waive this.

Thanks again

To square the circle please let us know if they do waive this requirement.
