Crime Ten Thai Construction Workers Flee Cambodia After Being Cheated of Wages
Picture courtesy of Kaoded. Ten Thai construction workers who had been lured to Phnom Penh, Cambodia with promises of steady employment and daily wages were intercepted by Thai military officers in the early hours of 2 July, after fleeing their workplace due to being cheated on wages and confiscation of their identification cards. At approximately 00:30, officers from the 1201st Ranger Company, under the 12th Ranger Regiment Task Force, in collaboration with Aranyaprathet Special Task Force (Burapha Force), apprehended the group of men as they attempted to scale the roof of a private car park and buildings, near the Ban Khlong Luek permanent border crossing in Aranyaprathet district, Sakaeo province. Preliminary investigations revealed that the workers had been recruited via Facebook to work at a construction site in the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, with the promise of 300 baht per day in wages. However, after completing a full month of work, the employer refused to pay their wages and confiscated their national ID cards. The workers were eventually abandoned in Poipet, just across the border from Thailand. The group told officials, tearfully, that after being dropped off in Poipet, they were approached by a guide who demanded 3,000 baht each to smuggle them back into Thailand. With no money to pay, the workers chose to risk crossing the border illegally on their own, eventually attempting to climb back into Thailand via the car park roof before being discovered by border patrol. The soldiers took the group to the 1201st Ranger Company headquarters, located at the Ban Khlong Luek border crossing, for questioning and documentation. All ten individuals were later handed over to Khlong Luek Police Station for legal processing and assistance. Authorities are expected to coordinate with relevant agencies to provide aid to the victims and investigate the labour trafficking operation further. Adapted by Asean Now from Kaoded 2025-07-03 -

Israel Hamas War the Widening Middle East Conflict
The above deaths are all according to Hamas, the same terrorists who are actively holding hostages and not agreeing to a ceasefire. Its almost like they are using Gazans as their personal sacrifice human shields eh. Meanwhile the IDF 36th Division reported dozens of terrorist operatives killed and hundreds of targets destroyed in recent days, including 140 terror targets over the previous 24 hours. As well as dismantling a tunnel network stretching three kilometers that was used by terror operatives in Khan Younis. Of course when you report these deaths, Hamas will claim it was the local Palestinian civilians indiscriminately killed. https://www.timesofisrael.com/24-said-killed-in-strike-on-gaza-city-cafe-troops-dismantle-3-km-tunnel-network/ -

Report Korat Police Deny Claims of Dark Drink-Drive Checkpoint
Picture courtesy of Thai Rath Korat traffic police face criticism after a viral livestream claims poor lighting at a drink-drive checkpoint. On 2nd July, online discussions erupted after the Facebook page “อย่าหาทำ” broadcasted a livestream criticising the lighting conditions at a drink-drive checkpoint in Korat, viewed by over 250,000 people. The stream accused the checkpoint of inadequate lighting and urged provincial police authorities to intervene. In response, Pol. Lt. Col. Attaporn Pumhuairop from Nakhon Ratchasima Police clarified that the checkpoint was legally authorised and data was recorded in the national police system. He confirmed that the checkpoint is located on main roads, with sufficient lighting, following orders to avoid dark or concealed areas. The checkpoint's responsibilities extend beyond alcohol testing to include searches for weapons, drugs, e-cigarettes, and illegal immigrants. Claims of multiple checkpoints in a single night were denied, with only one team operating at a time, adjusting locations as needed. Pol. Col. Sutthinant Kongchamdee reaffirmed that checkpoints adhere to national policies to reduce drink-drive incidents and crime. Any procedural errors would be addressed, and fairness to the public was assured. Picture courtesy of Thai Rath Adapted by ASEAN Now from Thai Rath 2025-07-03
