Of course the OP says it's a 'live' grenade, but as someone already pointed out, it's the Mills Bomb type, also known as the Cadbury Bomb because everyone gets a square. However 'live' and 'armed' are two different things. It needs a fuse inserting into it, otherwise you might as well throw a brick. So was it armed? If not, it's an ornament.
