Fantastic dog who by choice spends 75% of his time outside, Although he's welcome to sleep anywhere in the house he seems happiest outside, For the first 2-3 hours he sleeps on the bed spooned into the back of my legs then wakes up and manages to open the doors making his way outside (doesn't close the doors behind him)

Does his security rounds in the garden then turns his fan on (as with the doors he never turns it off) so to sleep without mosquitoes, While on his rounds he has the habit of killing anything which enters the garden day or night (squirrels, pigeons, geckos, snakes and any insects) he's had toads in his mouth and found them distasteful so now wakes me up and points at them with a paw... wont settle till i dispose of them over the wall,

He welcomes visitors both human and k9 as long as i am there to let them in...zero aggression, Guess i,m looking for ideas to stop him killing anything that moves day or night?

Really, really difficult to get rid of a natural prey drive from a dog.

Seems like your little wonder is amped up on it. Any idea what crosses are involved or is it a full on Bangkaew? (assuming it is in the mix (at least) due to the tail)

I find that totally unacceptable behaviour to leave the door open????

do not think you can do much, my boofhead use to catch frogs hold it in his mouth until I get it out. Sadly some stray cats wondered into the house and all I found was the body, no head .

he is just protecting his territory and nothing you can do to stop it, unless you keep him locked up indoors and go outside with him
