quite simply, many people never legitimately qualified for visas and lied about their income... the people who legitimately qualify don't have visa problems.

Disagree, I can not proof my income as the embassy only clears income from the home country. For smaller business people it is quite hard.
Also note that in business you might get a big amount one month, followed by none the next month and then again some payment the month after that. 

Immigration did not want this, in fact, they basically force you to do the full 400-800K deposit instead. If unmarried and under 50, there is no options at all except Elite too. This got nothing to do with being legitimate or not at all. Also, to deposit 400-800K baht right now and knowing the baht could drop by 20-30%, is quite a big risk.

Not to even mention, at younger ages, this cashflow is more useful within the business rather than just sitting in some account for many months of the year.

It is enough to do a downpayment on another property in Europe and get it paid off over the next 15-20 years. I'd rather do that.

Then you clearly never did comply. 65k baht monthly income was always the rule. With the British Embassy you had to provide documentary evidence of this and th source was indicated on your embassy letter.

It is 40K a month for marriage / child, I did not have to comply before as visas were a non issue / I spend quite some time abroad in each year before too.
I would also not live here anymore if no child, long gone. I can comply if going trough nonsense and setting up a company back home without any other purpose, wasting money along the process every month. Only in case of emergency and no other solutions, I would do that.

But it is stupid in the first place that it is so difficult / not available, for a biological parent to obtain a long stay visa of let's say a year.
Specially when they are under 18 or more precise, newborn. It takes another 22 years before I even hit 50 so forget about that.

I do blame western women for rigging the system to be able to take men for everything. Western society is not equal.

Acquaintances aren't true friends in my books, somebody you say hello to in passing is not someone you're likely to know that well and therefore have no idea of their personal circumstances or reasons for doing anything let alone leave a country.

IMO no one has 30 or more close friends, only acquaintances. Most of us will be lucky to have more than ten real friends, and many IMO have less than 5, if any at all.
