Nail Ban Proposed

Thailand could learn from the US government by the way they approached our drug problem here in the US and that is to spend millions of taxpayer money on educational and media campaigns with the theme : JUST SAY 'NO' TO NAILS :o

Very funny.

The problem though in real life is, that those nails are very scary. Basically, if you drive around there, you always keep an eye out on the roads in the red zones for nails. Most of the time it means that there was an incident, and they want to slow security forces and anybody else down. Not much problem, just a blown tire.

But in the back of your mind is, that maybe, they might get the idea to spread the nails to stop you, and then shoot you like sitting ducks.

Can the government mark the nails and other items with some type of microscopic marker sprayed on at the shops? DNA seems to identify a lot of criminals nowadays why not add artificial 'DNA' to items that the enemy seems to be using regularly if they really believe there is a serious problem with that particular item. The government probably could probably even mark suspects without them knowing such as when they are checked at road blocks. They could even mark motorcycles so that they would leave traces wherever they were parked or stopped eg- at the scene of a shooting. Maybe I've seen to many of those forensic crime shows on TV. Is the Thai government trying anything creative? Have they?

Good Idea. They can keep all the information the gather in their nail file to nail them later.....

...will be about as effective as the rule, last year, to have everyone register their mobile phones. If the bad guys want to cause problems, they're not going to throw their hands up in frustration because they can't get a bag full of nails. If someone throws a molatov cocktail, will the sage leaders in Bangkok suddenly ban bottles? Or if someone gets strangled by a wire or hogtied by a rope - will we then have a ban on wire and rope? ...reminds of the story of the Dutch boy who tries to hold back the ocean by putting his finger in the dike (uh oh, is there a double-entendre in there somewhere?).

Those pictured nails are crap. Takes way to many to puncture a tire, since most will never hit it at an critical angle.

Here is the real deal:

Maybe the insurgents need to go to a trainingcamp...

The one pictured works well enough, it was used down south.

And no, given that the insurgents are presently well in the lead of the conflict, it appears their training seems to be sufficient enough.

'Well enough' is a subjective term. If you spread out plenty enough, sure, but the one posted above has a far greater success-rate per nails used.

In anyway, a ban on nails is just showing how little grip the powers to be has on reality.

Incase we didn't know it already.
