The fiscal 2020 budget bill sailed through the House of Representatives on Saturday (January 11) after four days of debate on the second and third readings.

Of the 450 members of Parliament present in the house, 253 MPs voted in favour, 196 abstained and one did not cast a vote.

The bill will be passed on to the Senate for consideration.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha thanked the House of Representatives for passing the bill.

Are we not being told the full story here ??

Apparently the opposition party wanted more timeto debate the budget and that request was denied so they all walked out, apparently they'd already been debating it for an extremely long time without resolution and the urgent need was to get the money out there.
