DUBAI (Reuters) - Iran will punish all those responsible for the accidental shooting down of a Ukrainian passenger plane, President Hassan Rouhani said in a televised speech on Tuesday, adding that the “tragic event” would be investigated thoroughly.

“It was an unforgivable error ... one person cannot be solely responsible for the plane crash,” he said.

“Iranian armed forces admitting their mistake is a good first step ... We should assure people that it will not happen again,” he said, adding that his government was “accountable to Iranian and other nations who lost lives in the plane crash”.

I really don't know how the tragic  accident occured, but I am sure some poor schmuck who was trying to do his job will become the sacrificial goat.

The US might not be the reason but is big part of the reason. If it wasn't for the US's threat of attack they would not had being at such a heightened defencive pasture.

If you are a US apologist you might say the US did the assassination because,,,,,, and me being a Iran apologist would say yes but the general did what he did because..... and you would say but.... and I will say but... and in the bean time innocent people are dying.

The fact of the matter is the US is in Iran's neighborhood and is actively trying to destroy it's economy, Iran is not in the US's neighborhood or proactively doing anything against the US, all of Iran's actions are defensive.

Actually, I many times have problems understanding the Muslim culture and their action, but recently I have been siding with Iran against the US. I never thought I would see that day, but here it have arrived. However, I do not believe in blaming another country for their own mistakes can be possible. Even if somebody is pushing you around, this is such important things that it must be resilient against such errors.

But as I say. The Trump idiot has got me to side with Iran.

I certainly don't blame the Us for Iran's mistake, they should have had safeguards to prevent such happening. I blame the US for creating the environment where such thing can happen ,  let's not forget the US did the same thing when they shot down a commercial airline in Iran.

For example In the US , if the police while chasing a criminal kill somebody or themselves , the criminal is responsible for the death. he created the environment where the death occurred.

We can all argue, they did this, they can argue you did that, In fact I am sure that's what this thread, will deteriorate to that, as other thread have,

but the fact of the matter remains. We are there, they are not here. and if anyone thinks that a three thousand old civilization will suddenly kneel down to a two hundred year old upstart they are mistaken, they have seen enterprising upstarts come and go, and in their minds so will this one go.

By the way, it is funny how propaganda works, I was driving up Third Av in Manhattan and I must have counted five Persian food restaurants, and not one Iranian food restaurant. LOL

Ok, so now all they have to do is find a bunch of scapegoats and shoot them, sorted. Shouldn't take longer than a few days.

Justin is going to dress up in mideast garb and put out a fatwah.

First it was the Japs and nazies, then the communists, recently it's been the muslims.

This eagerness to find external enemies and execute wars abroad has been going on quite some decades already.

Decades? Men have fought since they found out you can hit another with a club. A certain portion of humans has natural warrior tendencies. Nature dictates a thinning of the heard every now and then. Long overdue since the 40's.

It is unforgivable yes but not entirely unexpected that beeing said it is a direct result of a (imo) deeply flawed foreign policy decision by Donald trump we are not safer and it has greatly increased the animosity between our country’s sad

LOL It doesn't get more perverse than this:

BBC: Iran plane downing: Person who filmed video arrested

"Iran says it has arrested the person who filmed the footage showing a Ukrainian passenger plane being shot down by a missile. It is believed the person being detained will face charges related to national security."  Off to secret prisons never to be seen again.

Depends on the signal of the plane. If the transponder was “off” it’s hard to distinct the plane. Idem ditto 9/11.

Black box needs to provide positive confirmation that the plane could communicate and could be tracked.

cheers

Looks like you are siding more against Trump than anything else.

No it doesn't. The data was available real-time to flightradar24.com, so it was available to all.

Yes, I do. I actually do not see any problems with that either. Here is why:

  • Just because a person as an entrepreneur can create an empire of hotels and entertainment venues, does not make him a good material for the US president post.
  • I find it hard to believe a president and agree to his actions when he is chosen as the few before him to be the front figure in an impeachment.
  • He have no knowledge of negotiation on a higher level than listen to me and agree with me and I like you.
  • He have made a joke out of himself as being the president that clearly can´t chose the right people working for him. That due to the fact that he is probably in the top 3 of president that fired most people working for him during one elected term.
  • Regarding this specific assassination of an Iranian high ranking general Soleimani, he also have a hard time explaining why it was done. I think we have 2-3 different explainations already.

In fact, he is a sneaky little untrustworthy and incompentent person in the wrong place in life.

What is an appropriate penalty for an accident in Sharia land? Do you have to pay a penalty for the non-believers? An equal penalty ?
