Sounds a bit strange, are we sure the Thai kid wasn't a pickpocket?

Which would explain the action and anger.

(Kid lifts phone from Brit's pocket, Brit feels it going and swings a punch, kid drops phone in scuffle)

Quite possible...

But the British guy is still acting like a complete & total tool !!! His language outs him as total British-bogan !

If it were pickpocketing... sure, whack him for good measure, then ask someone to “call the Police, this guys a pick picket”... don’t start behaving like a total to$$er...

  • I'm ''British'' and I hope they find this bully and deal with him. If people weren't permanently glued to their smartphones maybe they'd be more aware of their surroundings.

  • This guy is a disgrace, wonder if he would have been so quick to react if it was someone his own size or bigger instead of a small obviously frightened Thai.   Disgusting and sadly reflects/

  • I hope Thais understand that not all farangs behave like him and not all farangs behave like this British man. Otherwise living in Thailand will become even more difficult for the rest of the western

There's a host of news stories about Cambodian and Chinese pickpocket gangs targeting foreign tourists in Bangkok at the moment. The guy was small for a Thai, could easily have been Chinese.

Yes, maybe same same as Romanian gangs in London dipping everything in sight. Seemed to me the little 'un was on his own though , not part of a gang.

Good to know, but why assume that the little guy is a pickpocket, honestly, he doesn't look like.

The foreigner, on the other hand, looks homicidal.

What would you look like if you just caught someone with their hand in your pocket or your phone/passport/wallet in their hand?

Yes, he's always angry!

For non- Brits who wish to see the finest example of British masculinity just go to You Tube and search for Ronnie Pickering. The man is a leg end ( in his own estimation).

Farangs are guests in Thailand. This is not the UK,  and such behavior will mostly result in detention and deportation,  and of course being blacklisted.

Yes ! I have personally seen them in action . You have made a very good and solid point .

Please credit Thais and the whole human race in general more benefit of the doubt over such notions.

It not happen.

The kid play HIS iPhone and bump the UK guy. The kid not speak English to apologise enough, so the Uk punch his head.

The kid not steal phone/wallet/passport. You only imagine that. The kid is thai.

Did you see the look of disgust on the faces of the other commuters? Sadly, this is going to bring immigration and RTP down even harder on farangs here.
I don’t think this guy is a tourist. Most tourists would have some sort of backpack when they are travelling around. This guy didn’t look like he was carrying any bags. Maybe on his way to Nana or Cowboy?

One sided account of the story, lets examine the CCTV from the train and read the transcript of the interview with the foreigner.

I read that page and it essentially says : foreign man bad, Thai man good

travelling on the BTS it is quite unbelievable how many people have their faces stuck in smartphones surfing complete nonsense - it's like a scene from some kind of mind control horror movie - things like this are bound to happen on a busy commuter transport system - almost everyone has a phone stuck in their face taking up room, it really quite extraordinary to see, if only people could see how they look, mindless surfing like because it's there they need it to be in their hand and in the way of other passengers

It's hard to figure that peoples lives have become so entrenched in something 6" in their hand and they just cannot let go even on a busy train packed with people

if people are going to aimlessly walk around with their phone stuck in their face when moving around then this is going to happen, I have people walking into me all the time because they are not looking where they are going - face stuck in phone, if they bump into me and drop their phone - well (deleted) them for not looking where they are going

Well, there you go in case you were wondering why TAT is looking for Indian and Chinese tourists and not farang.

The Brit was completely out of order. For all the petty stuff some foreigners get lifted for, this degenerate needs to be hauled in and seriously taught some manners.

Sad to see this

I do agree with you but there is a bigger problem, this idiot should not have reacted the way he did - there is no excuse but like I said above there an endemic problem with using a phone in your hand on a busy transport carriage - someone is going to knock it out of your hand very easily

Time maybe for a ban on using phones on busy transport systems

A Thai replied about this incident and said this was a Chinese citizen, not a Thai that the Brit was picking on.

What display of toxic behaviour, I hope he is identified and shamed for his thuggish bullying.

If I were there I would of stepped in hard and fast....damm brit bully.  The Thai looks like a small kid.  Makes me so furious.  I hope he is blacklisted forever.  Scum!  A few years at the local Hanoi hilton will help adjust his attitude once a few thai's have their way and trade him for cigarettes.

I’m yet to see the despised Chinese and Indians behaving like this.

I actually see it more often than I do farangs, although I haven't seen them come to blows.
