  • I'm ''British'' and I hope they find this bully and deal with him. If people weren't permanently glued to their smartphones maybe they'd be more aware of their surroundings.

  • This guy is a disgrace, wonder if he would have been so quick to react if it was someone his own size or bigger instead of a small obviously frightened Thai.   Disgusting and sadly reflects/

  • I hope Thais understand that not all farangs behave like him and not all farangs behave like this British man. Otherwise living in Thailand will become even more difficult for the rest of the western

a few comments saying he was not thai pickpocket, where is the backpack of the farang.when I went on the skytrain sometimes I had a plastic bag no backpack.so I don,t know what is true except it was filmed by everyone on the train,go on the train all u see is thais or anyone on they phone  and face looking at it.so many different stories coming out

I'm from the UK and there's a word for people like him. Unfortunately, I can hear his accent. It's not suprising.

Guess they should ban the use of smartphones in crowded places. Or at least post reminders any damage or theft will remain the sole responsibility of the owner of the device. Otherwise this idiot must get arrested and charged for unprovoked assault.

Yes, maybe same same as Romanian gangs in London dipping everything in sight. Seemed to me the little 'un was on his own though , not part of a gang.

I assumed the big guy protecting him was another member of the gang.

I was expecting an aggressive Thai, but the Thai guy appeared (who knows the backstory, if there is one) submissive and there is no need to attack a guy not willing to fight.

NOBODY will remember it was a Brit.  They all know farangs from every country has gotten in trouble, and it's impossible to remember them all.

unless a farang shot that kid.  Then it won't be forgotten.

I would love to blame the pollution, since it does cause aggressive behavior, but I've been on that rant long enough.

Its not pollution its definately down to climate change.

What is wrong with that Brit commiting assault seems very angry?

Another reminder for those that bitch and moan how the Thais have changed. GET IT?

I see these guys everyday. Don,t be shocked if the Thais start striking back.

Yah, let's label every angry man "British" from now, works for me

Sounds a bit strange, are we sure the Thai kid wasn't a pickpocket?

Which would explain the action and anger.

(Kid lifts phone from Brit's pocket, Brit feels it going and swings a punch, kid drops phone in scuffle)

The video is edited to miss out the first part of the argument! He definitely asks him about where he got the ipad from, inferring that he was a thief

Another methpat

Did you see the look of disgust on the faces of the other commuters? Sadly, this is going to bring immigration and RTP down even harder on farangs here.
I don’t think this guy is a tourist. Most tourists would have some sort of backpack when they are travelling around. This guy didn’t look like he was carrying any bags. Maybe on his way to Nana or Cowboy?

"Sadly, this is going to bring immigration and RTP down even harder on farangs here."

Are you for real?? Never heard such nonsense in my life!

I'm British and think this object is a complete and utter t..t! Probably a school bully in his younger days. Feel so sorry for the little Thai guy, he looks terrified. Hope the fuzz catch and deport him after giving him a bit of his own medicine.

I don't know exactly what happened and neither it seems does anyone else. I do find it a little crazy that someone would overreact in such an aggressive manner in such a public place for what would otherwise be an innocent accidental knocking of something out of someone's hand. It would be great to hear from both sides about what happened.

If the smaller Asian man was a professional pickpocket who was caught in the act, acting terrified as if he was being attacked out of the blue for no reason would likely be in his repertoire of tactics to evade arrest. The foreigner's aggressiveness is more consistent with a thwarted pickpocket attempt than having had something accidentally knocked out of his hand.

Not saying one way or another I think that's what happened, just saying that I agree there may be more to the story than just what was caught on video.

Brit here ..... not angry at all, but probably would be if someone grabbed my phone out of my pocket.

6 month back in Phnom Penh, I was standing by the side of the road looking at google maps on my phone, and a guy on the back of a m/c grabbed my phone as he drove by. Sadly for him my grip was stronger than his, and he almost did a back flip off his scooter. Wasn't angry then either.

Does anyone know what it was actually all over?

There is no way the video started there! It's been edited for maximum effect

One sided account of the story, lets examine the CCTV from the train and read the transcript of the interview with the foreigner.

I read that page and it essentially says : foreign man bad, Thai man good

So after Brit punched thai kid in the head the Brit decide to let Thai kid keep the Brit iPhone? I

ok, if you believe that. Up to you.

They seem more angry than the Brit who had his pocket dipped.

The thai apologists?

Or the Brit apologists? (Brit punch thai kid in head =Thai must be the thief, etc)

Even at the ripe old age of 70, I would have caused a brief escalation by laying into the 'British' piece of s**t. Even with a UK passport in my own pocket.

He wouldn't have expected a full-on punch to the temple. Drop him.

However, he needs to be found, charged with assault, pay damages to the victim, locked up, upon completion of sentence, deported with a life ban. .. Banished.

He didn't punch him and he didn't let him keep anything.

He asked him where he got the ipad from, insinuating that he had stole it previously.

Yinn has to be a parody account, impossible for anybody to be that obtuse, even if they are Thai

Perhaps, but the westerner’s behavior in this case is indefensible.

He didn't punch him, he tried to grab him and missed. Are you blind as well as being ********
