phazey
Yeah the topic is right. You can now install and use to a limited extent OSX (Panther included) on your Intel compatible PC. http://www.pearpc.net & http://www.emaculation.com (and yes, OSX 10.1.4 is installing right now ) give the project some credit, if i researched right, it's a little under 4 weeks old since the initial release..... \o/ best of both worlds, affordable hardware, with a top notch OS... ubergnome
Why not save yourself a lot of time and trouble and just buy a Mac. Then you'll know who won the battle for quality (if not the price war). Top notch OS AND top notch hardware, right out of the box. My 500 Mhz iBook blows my 1.7 Ghz PC out of the water. It's not even funny. A big part of the problem with PCs IS the cheap hardware. Time is money and at the end of the day you save tons of time on the Mac, in many ways; and obsolescence isn't such an issue either. Sorry, don't mean to be a snob, I'm just frustrated on a daily basis trying to get serious work done on a PC.
phazey
I use my PC in a proffesional envroment, and to not only fork out over 3 grand for a new laptop, then find out it does not fit the bill would be useless. Now tho, at least i can evaluate the OS before i make such a desicion - and yes, it's a Powerbook G5 for me when they are released over xmas time thanks. BUT you made the point in your last statement - Sorry, don't mean to be a snob, I'm just frustrated on a daily basis trying to get serious work done on a PC well i', running ppc at 800mhz now......the best operating on affordable hardware ??? try it.
