webfact
PM2.5 situation worse in the morning compared to the evening: Air Force By The Nation The amount of PM 2.5 dust particles in the morning was higher than in the evening, the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) said after they used a dust sensor-equipped drone to check particulate matter less than 2.5 microns in diameter in the air at Rama II Road in Bangkok. Members of the Air Force team said that according to the previous statistic, the dust value in the area had exceeded the prescribed standard due to industrial factories and heavy traffic in the area. “We collected the data of toxic dust at each altitude at different periods -- morning, afternoon and evening,” the official said. “After the analysis is done, we will send the data to related authorities to issue measures to tackle the dust problem.” The official said that the dust value will be high during the mornings and it will decrease during the afternoon and evening. “The RTAF has cooperated with Ministry of Industry’s Department of Industrial Works to collect the data of toxic dust for further processing,” the official said. “We expect to conduct a flight test using the Department of Industrial Works’ dust sensor at the beginning of February.” This operation is under the policy of Air Force commander-in-chief, Air Chief Marshal Maanat Wongwat, applying modern geographic information technology to the RTAF’s aviation to mitigate the impact of the disaster. anterian
Where I am in the suburbs I have found the exact opposite, lowest in the morning and worsening as the day progresses.

Yeah, that seems to be the pattern where I am too. Bad in the morning, clearing during the day, and then reaching all time highs in the evening. Apparently the thousands of connected readers all over the country can't compete with the army and a couple of drones that can fly for about 20 minutes each for accuracy. brommers
So they have one drone equipped with a dust sensor! Makes me feel a whole lot more informed, not. I have an air quality monitor that does the same job and it shows that high levels in the morning are common, but they can increase rapidly when nearby housing construction starts up, and stay high all day. So the pisswilly little Air Force drone is hardly adding to our national picture of severe pollution. But it does give the boys a new toy to play with I suppose. The next thing will be the navy equipping their submarines with dust monitors. That will be a world first technical triumph for Thailand.
Popular Post 4MyEgo
For crying out aloud anyone with half a brain can get in a plane at night and see where all the fires are, but then again how many half brains are there in Thailand ? Pollution from car and factories is another matter, less traffic at night, factories are usually closed, I figured that one out myself because I have a complete brain ???? 2
unamazedloso
Its all about temp, humidity, wind and air pressure. IT IS worse in the mornings and late evenings because thats just how it is. If its worse during the day its localised. Air force needs to start googling literature on this. Another fun fact for the farmers. The more smoke in the atmosphere the less chance of rain. This is a study i read a few years ago. The other sad fact of this finding was that when it does rain it will be heavier and more damaging but also less likely to be stored. Great going farmers!! Really fudging yourselves more than you idiots realise. Question ove rthe span of 10years of burning soil is less fertile right? Im a farmer, all natural and the best dirt around. Never light a fire.

Markus Rider
industrial factories and heavy traffic...oh really ?? also at night ??? When will the fires which are ongoing since the beginning of December be addressed ? If it will be as last year with a serious polluted air until the end of April, then for a foreigner living here there is only one solution..... Leaving ! The north of Thailand is not a place to live, its a place to die !!!
shady86
Whats the point wasting resources to monitor and measure? Would it make anything better other than wasting public money?
Samuel Smith
They need some drones like the amuricans have, so they can rain hell on the farmers lighting the fires. Show the videos on evening news. 1
30la
Everyone knows the situation, you don't have to be a specialist or military to recognize the evidence. Everyone knows what solutions to take but, nobody who is willing to take them, what do you do then, well we send a couple of unemployed pilots to spend people's money! Result? What everyone already knows! For more than five years in office and not yet anything positive for the nation, BRAVO !!!

Better get out while you still can as the latest deadly virus from China could significantly limit your travel options.
